CoD4 Coming Soon?

A press release from Aspyr Media found its way to my inbox yesterday. For some reason I found the title comical.

CALL OF DUTY® 4: MODERN WARFARE COMING TO MAC!!!

With an expected release some time in May, it seems that the Apple fans out there (myself included) can look forward to this fantastic title hitting the shelves of obscure retailers sometime within the next 5 months, more than 7 months after its multi-platform debut.

Oh I have only begun to defile myself. Read on —>

I wish Apple would trade their black turtleneck sweaters for a “wife-beater” with some of these developers. Instead of building a notebook computer that shatters the first time you close it too hard, go back and establish an identity that has less to do with Caramel Macchiatos and more to do with actual “fun”. There’s no good reason for this delay, since they went to Universal Binary for the applications, all of this was supposed to be taken care of. At the last Macworld, they were showing off these fly-through sequences from Unreal that looked fantastic. What the hell happened? Where are the games? Enough of this typical elitist bull-crap from Apple, where you roll out something that looks amazing, and then move on to the next gizmo without delivering on consumer expectations.Yes the iPod is (still) awesome, the iPhone roxors, and they look great in black clothing. But for the love of Garageband, could they do SOMETHING to encourage developers to release games for their overpriced computers within at least the same fiscal year? Dear God!

News that CoD4 will come out in MAY on the Mac is about as exciting as a librarian rally. Sure it’s CoD4, on the Mac. But with so many great titles hitting so often now, who the hell is going to wait that long?

I have a Macbook Pro but Im not a big fan of computer games (PC or Mac…if they exist). Its important for Apple to focus a little bit more on bringing better game to its OS, its never good when Windows has a clear advantage without competition.

I am a pc user (therefore a pc gamer), but I think that Apple needs to sweep in and grab some devs. They have a few good titles on mac, but the rarity of them is so great, I actually freaked when I saw their packaging (mac store).

I want the pc to have a gamer competitor, and I know linux isn’t about to get that job done.

Thats awesome Doc. I didn’t realize you were a mac guy. I just recently turned about a year ago. And since, I now own an 07 Mac Book and an 08 Mac Pro quad core. But of coarse I didn’t get it for games, but that didn’t stop me from installing a copy of WOW on it as soon as I plugged it in haha. I really don’t care if they keep making games for it or don’t but it does make a whole lot of sense now that they are intel based. So I agree with ya Doc
