Can Wii Rock?

rocking-horse.jpgThe Wii is one of the hottest selling consoles of all time. No arguments about that. The addition of motion controls, while sacrificing graphics and the ability to go hi-def have really paid off for Nintendo. All true.

Despite selling so well, the Wii hasn’t received  the most anticipated cross-platform game of the year, Rock Band.

What?

More after the jump.

Where is it? Why doesn’t the best selling console not have it? You could speculate all day. Is it because Harmonix, or EA fear they, like Nintendo, will not be able to meet the consumer demand? Do they think it won’t sell well on the Wii?

All that wondering is for nothing. As of yet, EA has hinted that they might be sending Rock Band to the Wii. They have expressed interest in bringing it to the Wii, but unless they take action, its just words.

“We have not announced any plans for a Wii version at this time,” announced EA’s Bryce Baer. The Wii dreams aren’t shattered. You’ve just got to keep the faith.

Good luck with that, I’m sure there’s another mario game coming out real soon.

When they meet demand on the systems with clear-thinking owners, it may be feasible to look at the mindless zombie-owned console.

Until then, releasing Rock Band on the Wii is just asking for a back lash from the SMAA. (Soccer Mom Association of America)

Isn’t the Wii a console for kids? I don’t see a 5 year old playing Rockband.

I am really sick of hearing this. It isn’t. There’s Mario, Metroid, Zack and Wiki, Trauma Center, Fire Emblem…

If you enjoy the game, it dosen’t matter what age range it’s for. Lots of people all ages play Marios, Pokemons, Metal Gears, Resident Evils, etc.

Some are for the younger set, some for the older set, but that dosen’t stop people in the other field from enjoying them too (unless the parents pay attention to the ESRB ratings in the later case)

Nintendo always likes to keep their view on games as all family friendly.

      I hate that

They should have done the smart move and say “you know what, we like manhunt 2 just as it is, Ao (Adults only), let sony release the kiddy version for the game and bring on some violent games.
