Call of Duty 4’s Intermediate Player’s Guide

Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know all there is to know about Call of Duty 4. You’ve read my Newbie Guide and you’re kicking ass and taking names.

Yeah, right.

Find out what you can do to increase your kill ratio and be all you can be in Call of Duty 4, after the jump!

You’ve made it past the noobie stage. Congratulations. Mommy must be letting you stay up late during Christmas Break. Well, here’s a few tips to help you in the “mid-game” portion of Call of Duty 4’s Multiplayer.

Levels 10 through 32 are what I like to call the “mid game” of the multiplayer portion of Call of Duty 4. At level ten, you obtain the M4 Assault Rifle. At level 32, you unlock the “Bandolier” perk. In between these levels are a whole lot of choices, weapons and strategies. First, I’ll share some weapon and perk combos that will keep you alive, then next week, we’ll talk strategy.

1. Shoot in bursts. I know it’s hard to not hold that trigger down til your clip is empty, Timmy, but don’t do it. Your accuracy exponentially decreases after approximately every three rounds that you fire in automatic mode. Especially with the Ak-47. That bad boy kicks like a drunken mule. Squeeze and release, squeeze and release, rinse and repeat.

2. Don’t get fancy. I know that you love, love, love to be sneaky with that RPD in your hand, but you’re not fooling anyone. Don’t use the UAV jammer with an LMG. That’s like putting slippers on an elephant. The sheer noise coming from the volume of fire emanating from your muzzle will quickly give you away to a seasoned opponent.

      The m16 is a force to be reckoned with and I recommend this gun especially for Free-for-all. Just make sure you have stopping power, and skipping Bog is for pussies.

      the M16 with Stopping power, Deep Impact, and Red Dot is the way to go. You can shoot long range and short. It’s a great all around weapon. Doc I feel for you on the M16 buddy. I named mine Cindy. She is as deadly as she is a sight to behold.

      Oh, and always skip bog. And skip Wetwork when you’re playing Domination.

      Doc, is it just me, or does it sound like Lono’s afraid of a challenge?

      My M16A4 is named Tamara, and she will kill you to death… She’s hella hawt with her sexy lil red-dot scope, and her stopping power.

      I’ve only had CoD 4 for about a week, but is there a reason you’d use the red dot over ACOG?

      Personally I’ve been using the M16 with ACOG, stopping power and steady aim (highly reccomended if you haven’t tried it.)

      Anyway guys, I loved your New Year’s Eve podcast! I’ve subscribed to it on iTunes now. Also, Lono sounds just like Sock from Reaper haha.

      The ACOG “bobs” a little, robbing you of some accuracy. If you get all three Stopping Power-enhanced rounds into a guy, he’s dead. If one misses, he’s really pissed.

      But it’s all prefference. If you think you rock it out with the ACOG, then by all means dude, use the ACOG.

      Sometimes I love ACOG, sometimes I hate it, but the Red Dot clashes with my preferred Blue Tiger Camo on Diana aka Wonder Woman aka my M16. Don’t zoom in if you can see the bulge in your opponent’s pants. Just point and click and three shots of deadliness will cure him of living. Use Stopping Power and Deep Impact and you can tally multiple kills when enemy noobs line up single file in a doorway.

      You guys suck! no wonder I was getting my ass handed to me all day today (My first day on live)
      after whipping through the game like stalone, I thought I was a stud. I had no Idea there was all these perks & ad-ons. no wonder people were killing me after I emptied 1/2 a clip in em.

      not a big fan of the grenade launcher though. prefer perk 1 RPG CLAYMORE or C4!

      i think the p90 is a great gun

      just use a silencer on it!
      its pretty easy with red dot sight but the iron sights do fine with a silencer..
      i also use overkill so for long range shots i use a sniper (preferably dragunov)

      I don’t kno about you guys but MP-5 with a silencer, uav jammer and dead silent, lol half the time i just come up behind n00bs and shank them

      no opinion on bog

      m16’s iron sight works well…
      greanade launcher or silencer all teh way…
      btw bruce_willis, do u even know why knifing someone is called shanking???
      it can realy offend some people…

      i usually just use an ak-47 wit red dot, rpg, uav jammer, and deep impact, i went from getting 5 kills a game to 15 kills a game, and i got CoD4 a month ago

      hey i think your intro is super biased. and it sucks. but i guess its funny. i use the m4-acog with marty and it is very manly. you just gotta’ get out of the way!

      The M16 is sh*t, it is boring, everyone uses it and its not even that good, the GC6c is far more accurate, automatic and kills enemies quicker.

      The m16 is a good gun only if you are the type of that likes firing in bursts because nothing sucks more when one of three rounds misses and the guy you were shooting at finishes you off and i do agree bog is only fun when i use my noob tube

      The M16 improves your accuracy and increases your patience. It is very a useful weapon but it is not good at close range, your pistol is better at close range then the M16.

      Oh yeah, the best game section you could play is Team Tactical. It’s the fastest way of ranking up, I have no clue why, but it works.
