We’ve had some really fun times this year, but without a doubt, the thing that really helped to put Sarcastic Gamer on the map had nothing to do with gaming. When the Microsoft Surface trailer showed up, it was new, neat, interesting, and begging for a parody. So I dragged it into ProTools and goofed around with it for about an hour, and out popped our first million-view Youtube video.

Then, later in the year, we got a message from MS inviting us to come up to Redmond and visit the Surface team, and try out the device. We were treated like Rock Stars for a day, as we kept looking over our shoulders, half-expecting a beat down. In the end, we left with a LOT of video, a LOT of pictures, and a whole new understanding of Surface computing.

Look for a brand new Surface video in the coming weeks, plus a major announcement regarding Surface, and my full write up on the trip, all within the next few weeks.

For propelling a gaming site to notoriety while having zero gaming relevance, The Big Ass Table Video ranks number 12 on the Sarcastic Gamer Top 100 Gaming Moments of 2007.
