If you’re like me, your Orange Box has been played through and it’s collecting a little dust. However, TF2 is still a great reason to spin the disk up again. A good SG Gamer Night would be awesome, but the damn lag is still a fun-killing issue.

Well, (Xbox360) TF2 fans, your salvation may soon be at hand!

According to Kerry Davis, a software engineer at Valve, a new patch as well as some new downloadable goodies is on the way. This should hopefully completely fix the lag issues, as well as exploits other sneaky gamers have been taking advantage of.

The really cool part of all this is that Valve found out about most of these problems, just from reading forum posts! Valve, you guys rock.

Anyway, the patch has already been submitted to Microsoft, and we should hopefully get it on our TF2 starved consoles by Christmas.   Some additional maps should be around the corner too, although there’s no definite news yet if they will be free or not.

Soon, I’ll be getting spooked by spies and stabbed in the back, without getting frozen in one place!

Awesome. Maybe.

Finally? Oh yeah. That’s great. Hope they actually do fix it and I might just have to pick up Orange Box.

I have played many times but I only saw lag in 16 player games.

I haven’t played it yet but yeah I’ve been hearing about lag. I hope they do fix it!

wouldn’t it be easier to just buy the pc version? it would look better, play better, and no disk switching

There is no disc switching anyway. All 5 “parts” of the Orange Box are on 1 disc for Xbox 360. But if you mean between games in general, well that is just part of gaming. Most people have to switch discs for PC games too, though I am aware it is possible to get the whole thing on the PC.
