After months of investigation into the continued shortages of Nintendo Wii consoles, we’ve finally discovered the cause of the problem. Nintendo has diligently covered up the issue until an accidental discovery was made recently.
Nintendo’s factory workers from the Wii assembly lines have been wandering off into the forests surrounding the Taiwanese factory for months on end. Workers would report to work, but by lunch time they had been randomly leaving their post on the assembly lines and not returning.
Foxconn, the manufacturer contracted by Nintendo to make the Wii has had to enlist local children to help track down stray factory workers. Apparently they are paid in Wii points but a typical child would have to work 14 years to be able to afford a Wii system of their own.
Sarcastic Gamer contacted a representative from Nintendo’s DS manufacturing facility to find out why similar production woes haven’t affected that product line but the answer was only “¡Ándale! ¡Ándale! ¡Arriba! ¡Arriba!”
Apparently several members of the DS manufacturing team were sent to consult on the Wii issues, but are feared missing (and eaten). More on this story as it develops.
