Iron Man: Marvel CAN make good games

Check out the trailer for the latest Marvel game, Iron Man.

As we all know, trailers can be very deceiving (think the great trailers for SpiderMan 3), but sometimes they really do give us a taste of great things to come. This time around, we don’t have some namby pamby developer like Treyarch (SpiderMan 3) or Beenox (Fantastic Four) doing the grunt work; we have the good ol’boys over at Sega at the helm.

Marvel’s track record for video games is iffy at best; even worse when you single out their movie tie-in titles. That said, Sega really seems to be giving Iron Man some serious attention (i.e. it has been in development a long time vs. its disgustingly rushed brethren).

Iron Man the game, is set for release beside the movie of the same name some time in 2008, and if they turn out to be half as good as the trailers, I will be one happy comic book fan/gamer.

Cue the Black Sabbath:

I…AM…IRON…MAAAAAAAN

Gamespot saying great things about a game movie adaptation with LOTS of money to expend on advertising? unconceivable!

Oh.. whats that? oh .. I just got word the first draft was written by an intern who said the game was absolut crap, for completely unrelated reasons he’s flying back home pink slip in hand as we speak
