Just finished playing the Frontlines: Fuel of War Demo and I’ve got to say, I’m surprised. I’ve heard and read some people bashing the game for shoddy grapics and what not, but I kinda dug it.
Find out why after the jump!
I was surprised at the demo for a couple of reasons. First off, the game looks pretty good. It has huge Halo 3 like environments, and a lot of the structures were destructable, unlike Halo 3. The weapons felt a bit generic, like Quake 4, but there were these cool drones that you could pilot to take out entrenched baddies, or blow the hell out of a tank that was in your way.
The demo offered three classes, pretty standard fare. I only played the assault and special ops class. There’s also an anti-vehicle class, which is pretty self-explanatory. Anyway, I really enjoyed the special-ops class. At one point, a tank was impeding our advance, so I flanked it and got on top of a roof and hoofed it over to a building that was next to the tank. Looking down on the tank, I dropped two C4 remote detonated explosives on the thing and, well, lets just say it was pretty satisfying.
Oh yeah, did I mention that you can drive tanks, airplanes, jeeps and heliocopters? Are you excited about this yet?
How bout 32 player muliplayer games on Xbox Live? If true, would be a first for me as an Xbox gamer. That would be pretty sweet.
Well, I know this is just a demo, but I liked it alot, not enought to trade my Call of Duty 4 in just yet, but enough for me to at least rent it to check it out. Anyone else play it? I wanna hear your thoughts on the forums!

I liked the demo, although I dont think a playable multiplayer map would have killed them. I also really like the idea of an actual single-player story in a Battlefield-type game.
Hell this one even seems interesting, mildly macho voiceovers aside.
See ya online.

yeah totally. I hope there’s different assault rifle types and other types of weapons.

I felt the controls were really loose and the overall feel of the game was mediocre.
I will probably not even be renting this one.

Playd the demo….. Umm.. game is pretty crappy IMO. Graphics… um.. not really good. Controls (vehnicle in paticular) - crap. Gameplay - strange, boring, kinda crap…. And there is some framerate issues. What will happen with 32 lagged ppl I dunno. But If you want to play something Battlefield like with 32 or even 64 or 128 friends. Buy BF for PC.

Its made by the same people who made the desert combat mod for BF1942. The graphics ain’t great but with 60 playable vehicles this game should be awesome, I’ve herd good things from the beta.
Plus proper clan support!!!

I thought it was really fun. The drones were the best and the 32 player multiplayer games on xbox live is great too!!! the graphics are good too. the only thing i dont like is the objectives. their are several for each mission i dont like that i like it to be just one objective like call of duty 4. SO FAR BEST GAME I EVER PLAYED IN MY LIFE IS CRAZY FOR THE XBOX 360.and yea the 60 playable vehicles in the game (fuel of war) should make the game really good.

dont buy this game!ive got bf2142,cod4,bf2,fear etc!it is one of the worst shooter ive ever bought!online gameplay is slow, with the occational skirmish.the weapons lack any form of realism(eg noise, kickback or sense of power.)
i would suggest wating for the new bf game, always fantastic games!cod4 is inbeatable at the mo,thats my thoughts,im a disgruntled thq custm now!
