Stranglehold was one of the myriad of games this year (Assassins Creed too) that, in my opinion, got a bad rap. Sure the game was really just a blend of other titles like Max Payne, but it was still fun as all hell. I can’t think of another third-person action game this year that even comes close to the insane gun blazing glory Tequila (a.k.a. Chow Yun Fat) brought to the screen.

That said, the game was plagued by problems. Number one was the crappy multiplayer.

Find out what Midway is going to do to fix this after the jump!

Usually games with a short single player campaign are supplemented with a robust multiplayer setup. Midway has apparently realized this, unfortunately, it has taken them a few months to do so.

The big M has announced that they will be releasing a new map pack for the 360 and PS3. The pack will include 10 new maps and 21 new player skins. No news yet on the release date, or pricing, but one can hope it will be worth it. Who can say when the PC will get in on the action, but hey, PC gamers have gotten used to getting the short end of the support stick for some time.

Finally, we can dive over tables in slow-motion, dual automatic pistols roaring, and not feel like we are fighting a twin in the same locations over and over. Maybe.
