Bonzai Charge to Call of Duty 5

Kotaku actually had something interesting to say yesterday. An ‘inside tipster’ has spilled the beans to them about the setting of Call of Duty 5, and it looks like we are headed to the Pacific.

Ughhhhhhh!

Pun intended, this game is going to BOMB. Not only are we being brought back to the 1940s again, but it’s not being developed by anyone credible. Infinity Ward was not assigned to this project, so here comes Treyarch again, who crapped out Call of Duty 3 and the entire Spiderman franchise.

After visiting their homepage, the only game I could find on the list that was decent, was Tony Hawk 2. I’m not entirely sure why Activision keeps putting so much faith in them. Perhaps Treyarch is being paid to make the rest of Activision’s IP look better.

I bet Treyarch works for less money than Infinity Ward… or at least they _should_.

If I were Infinity Ward, I’d push REALLY hard to be the sole developer behind COD or I’d consider planning an exit strategy so I could break off and handle my own IP and not hand it off to lesser talented lackeys every other year. You build up the brand, they tear it down some, you build it up more, they get ready to tear it down some more… that’s gotta be rough…

I am sad to hear this. I was hoping for another modern warfare. Eventually you KNOW we are going to see Call of duty:Future warfare

I literally started rubbing my temples when I heard this. I mean, it’s like someone looked at COD:4’s success and thought:

“WOW! That worked SO well! You know, we should go back to what we were doing before! I mean, we don’t want to run good ideas into the ground, right?”

To be fair, I don’t think that I’ll count them out YET. We haven’t seen this game yet, (or at least I hope we haven’t seen it before. You know what I mean…) so it’s not CONDEMNED to failure.

Even so, only a fool wouldn’t be worried upon hearing this.

What is this game potentially be about because there aren’t any good wars that complement COD 4. Unless they decide to go backwards and do Vietnam, Korea or, the COD favourite, World War II

moving back to the 1940s is a terrible idea they did that to death already stay in the modern

Maybe by saying its Pacific based we ARE looking at another Modern Warfare Variant.
Korea anyone? Sad to say though… I am willing to bet we are going to be looking at another WWII based game. How queer.
