      The Microsoft X-box 360 is a testament to the fact that any thing bad to do with reliablity can pushed aside if you throw enough money at it.

      4 in and doing good so far..

      If “Halo 3 sucked” shows up as a top 100 surprise, the whole list will lose credibility.

      I love that when they finally caved and gave us HDMI, they opted for the already outdated HDMI 1.2 whereas the PS3 which launched the previous year has HDMI 1.3 support. Nice one Microsoft! :thumbsup:

      Sean,

      You need to add “Bah Humbug” to the end of all of your posts… that should be your signature.

      Ummm… Maybe it’s different in the UK, but we’ve had HDMI ports on our Premium 360s sinse shortly after the release of the Elite. I even sold one on eBay because of it. I figured it was the same in the states aswell.

      Also, why the hell are people “ticked off” about it. It seems Microsoft are damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

      Early adopters get a raw deal in the long run. In return, they are the first to own the systems. I knew this when I bought a 360 on launch, and I’ve not regretted a thing.

      Component as the only way to connect to an HDTV? Not hardly. The VGA connection has been there since day one, supports DVD upscaling, and has more than enough bandwidth for a 1080p signal. The only things HDMI has over it are integrated audio connections (big deal) and support for TrueHD sound, which the 360 doesn’t support anyway.

      @GuityDragon: Microsoft _may_ be damned if they don’t, but they’re most _certainly_ damned if they do “half-assed” in my book. HDMI 1.3 offers “deep color” support that produced NOTICEABLY better color reproduction. Why wouldn’t someone want this?

      When asked, they said they didn’t have time to upgrade to the HDMI 1.3 standard due to lead time into production… yet the PS3 which launched in ‘06 came with HDMI 1.3 from day one… I just don’t buy it. And with all the changes they’re working in with newer heatsinks, new models, new chipset dies… why aren’t they moving to HDMI 1.3 _now_?

      @Doc: Bah, humbug! ;)
