I’ll admit, we were really hard on Sony when this site first went up. It’s good that we got it out of our system because it looks like they’re starting to turn it around.
The summer of 2007 was a totally different story. After Motorstorm came out in early 2007, I don’t think a decent PS3 game hit the shelves until late August, when Heavenly Sword came out. That’s a heckuva long time to wait.
Overall, not even Rothbart can deny that for most of this year, the list of good PS3 titles was pretty short. Especially when it came to exclusives. Then Sony went and made a pretty stupid statement.
More after the jump.
Over the summer, Sony announced that they would be releasing 380 games by March of 2008. Nice, we’re back on track. Right? Not long after that they changed that number to 145, which is less than half. S***!
This inspired us to write a song about it. Like to hear it? Check it out here.
Sony’s slow response to the drought makes it number 80 on the Sarcastic Gamer Top 100 Gaming Moments of 2007.

@commander121: I’m not even sure what you meant by your comment. You might want to try re-reading before clicking “submit”.
Now on to my comments for this post in general:
So yeah, there are some good games on the PS3. The next battle they have to fight (while continuing to fight all existing battles) is to fight for the legitimacy of multiplatform titles on their system. People are _still_ discounting the likes of COD4, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Stranglehold, Rainbox Six Vegas, Burnout Paradise, etc. Yes, I realize Stranglehold and R6Vegas had significant delays (as did GRAW 2 and a few others) but these games are all largely comparable to their 360 counterparts yet just like Rodney Dangerfield, they get no respect.
People need to realize that if a developer does a “perfect” job, multiplatform games _will_ be identical on all platforms. And that fact doesn’t scream “failure” on the PS3; multiplatform games aren’t going to be the ones that wow anybody with super performance, they’re the ones that will only be better on one platform if the developers somehow fell short on the other(s).
A lot of people look at it as “Why wouldn’t I buy it for the 360?” when in my opinion the only valid answers are Achievements/Gamerscore (which I personally don’t care about) or friends on Live instead of PSN (which won’t ever change until people start buying PS3 games).
ps3 planned for there to be games when the ps3 was launched except there was a delay with some of there launch titles so when the ps3 came out it had no games
+ they should have verified that announcement about the 380 games instead of making them look stupid
P.S
i was shut down by rothbart … . . .*cry*
