In case none of you heard, Spike TV puts on a video game show. This is the fifth year they have done it. You’d think they would have got it right by now. You’d think.
Third rate celebrities. Terrible game nominations. Plugs galore by “actors” who probably have never played a video game. Basically two hours of selling you crap.
Find out how their fifth straight fudge up made the Top 100 after the jump.
The envelope please…shooters, shooters and more shooters were the big winner this year. Who the judges were, I have no idea. Bioshock, game of the year? Screw re-playability. Some of the results like the show were disappointing. Why do we even care what Spike thinks about videogames?
“Two hours of celebrity gamer wannabes and scantily clad strippers looking for their big break sprinkled with largely unimpressive gameplay-less ‘World Premiere’ game trailers.” Catch the rest of Rothbart’s Rant about the VGA award show here.
Hopefully next year it’ll be the Sarcasticgamer.com Spike Video Game Awards. Actually the channel doesn’t matter. The networks can start the bidding war now.
Spike’s stealing two hours of peoples lives that they will never get back, soul sucked it’s way to number 42 on Sarcastic Gamer’s Top 100 Gaming Moments of 2007.
