
Back in October, Electronic ‘Uncle Pennybags’ Arts added BioWare and Pandemic Studios to their publishing arsenal to the tune of $860 million. The intellectual property acquired included Jade Empire, Mass Effect, and Mercenaries, but not Knights of the Old Republic or Neverwinter Nights. I’m sure there is a more logical explanation for the exclusions, but I like to think that even EA knew they would f*ck them up.

When the announcement was made, everyone was quick to worry about mass effect’s on Mass Effect. With the Electronic Arts’ track record for destroying newly purchased toys, it was definitely a potential threat. Besides the elevators (just take the stairs), the game turned out just fine. Just wait until Mass Effect: Total Sellout comes out in six months as a $40 expansion pack.
Although this news was bigger three months ago, it is overshadowed with the Activision Blizzard deal. But wait! You don’t know about that because it hasn’t been in our 2007 Top Gaming Moments Countdown quite yet. I have a feeling it’s coming up really soon.
EA’s deep pockets, and our willingness to accept cash bribes, rockets this moment to #16 out of 100 on Sarcastic Gamer’s Top Gaming Moments of 2007.

if ea had such a big bugget last year with all that buying and taking over other game buisnesses they should put that money into the games and not just becoming bigger
