Why God Why?

Ever wonder how you can tell if someone has too much time on their hands? There are a few signs: a huge model airplane collection, a seven foot tall Optimus Prime for a CPU, or this.

That’s right, a Commodore 64, an old, old computer that should have been smashed or blown up long ago, in all it’s glory with Guitar Hero on it. Would you check out those graphics.

I have to ask why in the wide world of sports anyone would do this. All of that effort could have gone toward something more productive. What would be the point? I can understand being high and doing something stupid, but this takes the cake. Even if they were intoxicated by any means, there’s no excuse. If one of my friends did this I would have to say, “You’re such a f***ing nerd” as I laughed my way out the door.

I know some people like to go “Old School” but this is ridiculous. How could this game be any fun on an old POS?

Wow that is a waste of time.

I’ll probably be in the minority here, but as someone who grew up with the Speccy, the C64 and the Amstrad, I do actually have a little geekgasm when I see this kind of thing.

It was probably an interesting, fun little project to do - to program, to test and to play. He did it so he could say “I did it” - nothing more. But there will always be some people who think this is a waste of time and yet strive to collect all the phone numbers in The Darkness.

I think that’s a shame. It’s a cool little accomplishment, something to be proud of. Well done him, I say!
