If you’ve read any of my fighting game articles, it should come as no surprise to you that I’m quite excited about the new Street Fighter HD remix. It’s not coming until next year for XBLA and PSN, however for a moment, I had a Ha-Do-Ken fireball sized heart attack.
Read why after the break!
In a Capcom blog entitled, “Rebalancing Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix” they describe how they’re changing the game to make it appeal to a wider audience.
*Urge to kill rising.*
Then I read that this will be a separate game mode, and the original rules will still be completely playable, with the only difference being the graphical upgrade.
Phew, crisis averted.
Some things about this new mode I might actually approve of, such as removing the need for triple simultaneous buttons presses and changing moves that ended in a diagonal up motion. Who knows, this new game mode might actually get some new blood to enjoy what has been the household name of fighting games since … well since fighting games began! For now, only time will tell.
Personally, I’m just glad I’ll have the option to play with my tried and true old school rules, just in case.
Yoga Fire!
