Last week in Japan, while we in the U.S. were eating turkey, the Playstation 3 out sold the Wii by 20,000 units.
In Japan.
Oh and by the way, this is the second week in a row that this has happened.
Read about this crazy phenomenon after the break!
While this may be glorified as a crowning achievement, we have to remember that the Wii is on a self induced shortage and Sony just released the cheaper 40GB PS3.
I’m not knocking the PS3, which had some decent games come out recently and has more on the horizon. I just think that we could be over-hyping this a bit. I think a day to be proud of is when the PS3 outsells it’s little brother, the PS2. Or when Sony stop selling the PS2 all together.
The situation with the PS2 makes me wonder. It’s still making millions. Is Sony still selling those in order to recoup some of the losses it is having with the PS3? I mean when the 360 came out, Microsoft had never heard of the original Xbox.
Good job Sony, let’s see if the glow of the 40GB fades this week.
