It seems that I have been writing a lot about Manhunt 2 and the main reason is that it’s all over the news. You can’t turn on the TV or go to a website without hearing something about a controversy surrounding the game. With every news conglomerate secretly banding together to bring about the down fall of the game, and video games in general, someone else has decided to jump on the f*** Manhunt 2 train.
Find out who, after the jump!
The Mental Health Alliance has decided to get a shot. They issued a statement with their concerns about the way the ”crazy” people are portrayed in the game. Here’s what they said:
“Even though some people may consider Manhunt2 to be only a game, it unfortunately perpetuates and reinforces cruel, inaccurate perceptions that people who live with mental illnesses are violent.”
I have yet to play the game, but if it’s anything like the first, the patients were hand picked for their violent tendencies. What if they said criminally insane? Does that make it okay for them to be crazy mad dog killers?
Whats next? I bet the Aryan brotherhood will step up to the plate. The reason will be that in part one the white supremacist group, clearly modeled after them, made them look like ignorant racists.
Maybe the Organization for People Who Wear Glasses will step forward because the main character wears glasses. He could be badly representing the entire corrective lens wearing community, giving the impression that people with glasses kill crazy people.
Who knows?
Have you people not learned that controversy sells? By nature, if you tell kids they shouldn’t play the game over and over again they will want to play it, just to spite their parents and see what all the hype is about. If they would have let it go after it got the M rating I doubt the game would have sold as well as it has.
Dumb-asses!

so true. so many people just want attention and will do anything to get it. Come On! Stereotypes are in movies, but you don’t see people boycotting them. Just live with it!
