‘Dr. Finger’ of the ‘Evil Avatar’ forums, proclaimed that Target is removing Manhunt 2 from its store shelves. He claimed that he obtained this information from an internal Target memo that a ‘contact’ of his received. Nothing else is currently known about Dr. Finger or his credentials, but he does have over 4500 posts, and probably has nothing better to do than keep tabs on major retailers.
The current status of the item on Target.com is “This item is available online, but is not available in stores.” That sounds much better than, “This item is currently only available in the last place we have testes” and twice as good as “We only succumb to soccer moms and Jesus freaks where they can make a scene.”
If Target won’t sell Manhunt 2, there are some real players in this business who could take their spot:
HOME DEPOT: You have a chance to make some big money here. Take advantage of Target’s missed opportunity, and promote the game right alongside your 10,000 RPM chainsaws and diverse lines of sharp gardening equipment. Everyone who is anyone will want to be imitating the cool new tricks they learned from Manhunt 2. Now, you just need to associate your products with violent video games, dodge a lawsuit or three, and gold shall be struck.
SARAN WRAP: Contact Take2 to get some cross-promotion into Manhunt 3. When the player goes in for a kill, don’t have them think they’re reaching for any old plastic wrap. Show the durability of your product when it’s stretched tight over some grease-ball’s face.
SUBWAY: Just keep doing what you are doing.
Can I get free subs for life with this plug? Let me know.
