God Of The PSP!

With the absolute landslide of fantastic console and PC games flooding the market this year, it’s easy to forget the little brother of gaming: the PSP (sorry DS I’m too old to play your games). To date we have had a few great titles, but nothing that really pushed what the PSP can do. Though I’ll admit the new Silent Hill comes close but I digress…

Check out my mini-demo review after the jump!

Apparently game developer Ready At Dawn was of a similar mind and brought my man Kratos to the PSP. He’s kicking ass and taking names. For those lucky few who have a PlayStation Underground account (no pun intended), an absolutely eye opening special edition demo called “The God Of War: Chains of Olympus Special Edition: Battle of Attica” (even the demo name is uber) was delivered to those who signed up for it. These select gamers already know just how bad ass everyones favorite Spartan is looking.

I don’t have a PlayStation Underground account, but I did manage to track down one of the few people in Canada who apparently does. Thanks SonOfMom. Anyway, from the limited amount of time I had to play the demo before SonOfMom’s mom (haha) kicked me out, this title really does seem to live up to the hype. Bar none the most impressive PSP title I have seen to date. The graphics are amazing, the camera is intelligent and keeps the action in focus, and the game really does seem to be unique from the rest of the God Of War franchise. ReD has really taken the time to not only make a great game, but one that truly showcases what the PSP can do if developers stop being lazy with all their lame updates of old games. (I’m looking at you Final Fantasy II Anniversary Edition).
