With the RTS genre’s move from PC’s to the console world, the need for new wartime scenarios is greater than ever. WWII, the Cold War, Vietnam and dozens of other conflicts have already been used far past the point of redundancy. Well Montreal’s Ubisoft studio development team has taken up the challenge to bring something new to the RTS table. The new title “Canada vs. the United States of America” is a modern, no holds bar throw down for control of North America.

Ubisoft leaked emails today detailed their plans for this new RTS title for all next-gen platforms. Always jealous of their southern neighbors, Canada launches a preemptive strike into the heartland of the good ol US of A. Armed with state of the art 1980’s automatic rifles, no less than 5 pre-Cold War warships, some fighters that Canada borrowed from the US but never returned and, of course, Polar Bear mounted cavalry; Canada intends to show the world the true might and resolve of everyones favorite “nice guy” nation.

The game apparently has the US respond by arming their populace (or rather allowing them to use the weapons they already have) to repel the evil snow people from the North. We can expect pickups full of good ol boys drinking six packs and gas guzzling SUV’s with tinted windows to be among the USA’s special units.

Will Canada’s cave man level weapons technology, Polar Bear cavalry, and wishful thinking win the day (I’m gonna kill me some US’ers EH!)? Or will the powerful US military mixed with an overfed, heavily armed populace and high quality motor vehicles (My Hemi will crush all yall Beaver loving Canadians!) end up stopping the evil Maple Leaf army?

I can’t wait to see this one. The game is scheduled for release the day after the forthcoming US presidential election. Don’t mess with Canada eh!
