We all know that movie based video games have a less than stellar record. Rushed to coincide with a feature film release and developed by the lowest bidder. It seems like 9 out of 10 movie games do nothing but tarnish the reputations of the films they represent.

Well, game developer Rebellion is taking a pro-active step to see that grisly fate does not befall the Alien vs. Predator franchise. The PSP exclusive, Alien vs. Predator: Requiem is set to hit stores on November 13th, a full month before the feature film of the same name hits theaters.

Unfortunately, little video is available for this latest chest popping alien title, but given the ample lead time and dedicated development team (the same crew who created the original AvP for PC) we can expect that this movie tie-in will not follow in the tragic footsteps of games like Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. I can’t wait to jump into all the spine-ripping, chest exploding, acid splashing mayhem.
