The reach of Sarcastic Gamer is growing more and more each day. It took another step today, as our own Sean “Rothbart” Workman was named a 2008 Xbox MVP!
Microsoft selects their MVP’s annually from members of the independent gaming community that they view as influential in the Microsoft and particularly, Xbox Community.
When asked about the selection of Rothbart as an MVP, MS representatives stated:
“Mr. Workman was personally recommended for the program by Mr. Gates himself. This actually signals a shift for the MVP program, as we have made this particular selection more out of sympathy for Mr. Workman, rather than for his contributions to the Microsoft Community. While we recognize Mr. Workman’s influence and contributions to the Gamercast Community, we feel at this point that he is misguided. We feel we can help direct Mr. Workman, through the MVP program, to lead a better gaming life! The MVP program is more than just acknowledging influential gamers; it’s about helping the less fortunate and misguided gamers too…”
Sean is currently in Seattle meeting with the Microsoft staff as we speak and has sent me a few photos of the event. We hope to hear exclusive coverage from him next week regarding his visit and his prestigious award…
