After a wild match last night versus Gizmodo, gaming giant Kotaku has, for some strange reason, shifted its competitive gaze to our little community. Out of nowhere, I got this email from Brian Crecente last night, with a picture attached that I could never imagine posting on this blog. I won’t bore you with the details, but here’s the part that counts.

Doc,

You’re going down. Kotaku is going to stomp you like the wannabe gaming blog that you are. You don’t stand a (freakin) chance, so why don’t you quit now before Kotaku mops the floor with your sorry website. By the way, your podcast sucks. You suck. Your forums suck. You all suck. So suck it.

The message went on to lay out the terms of the competition, and how we were all the sons of motherless goats. We were also informed repeatedly in the message that Kotaku rules.

After careful consideration, and several large doses of tranquilzers for Lono, we’ve decided to back down from this challenge. Before you call us cowards or worse, please consider the event that we’re competing in.

Brian CrecenteIt’s a hair pageant.

You win, Crecente… You win.
