In case you were too busy laying the smackdown on pesky Brutes in Halo 3 and missed this little gem from the TGS over the weekend, let me fill you in.

Masanao Maeda, a corporate director at Sega’s software division, spoke at TGS on 9/21/07 regarding their new game “Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games.” During his speech he predicted that the title would sell over 4 million copies, although he did not give a time frame for that estimate.

Four million? For a game with Sonic the Hegehog? Well, I guess that they’ll probably have to sell four million just to break even after paying for the Mario and Olympic licenses.That’s a bold prediction.

Let’s review some of Mr. Maeda’s other “predictions.”

• Everyone that plays the game will only want to play with Shadow!
• The blood doping mini-game will revolutionize the Wii Motion Controls!
• The “Special Olympics” expansion will include Wario, Tails and all of the other retarded characters from the respective Mario and Sonic franchises. Shadow will appear in both games.
• Mario and Sonic will have full online capability, if Nintendo gets around to it.
• Halo 3 is going to be a HUGE bust.

Mr. Maeda is expected to speak later on in the week regarding his predictions for the Neo-Geo console making a big comeback and his Saints versus the Jets Super Bowl prediction!
