As I predicted in “Kountdown to Katamari - 21 days” the hype surrounding Beautiful Katamari is really picking up steam. Today, Microsoft and Namco Bandai unveiled the latest cog in the wheel of publicity:![]()
The gorgeous console, inspired by the core objective of the game, is nothing short of breathtaking. Designed by the same creative team that delivered the sleek 1975 AMC Pacer, the BK:360 Elite, boasts several built in features, designed to enhance the Beautiful Katamari experience.
Composite Video Out - Helps to soften the jaggies and help players forget about that annoying HD standard, that most games are plagued with. While the title is produced in HD, as mandated by Microsoft, it is best viewed at lower resolution, preferrably on a screen no larger than 12 inches wide.- Dolby Digital Optical Super Enhanced Audio - Helps to deliver the game’s incredible new soundtrack, with the highest possible fidelity. Namco spent almost 95% of the game’s budget creating this aural overload, so hear it the way it was meant to be heard.
- Custom BK controller - It’s just a stick, since that’s all you’ll need to roll a ball around.

- Adrenaline StimPack Dispenser - For those 48-hour ball-rolling binges.
- 1GB Hard Drive - Since the developers saved a ton of data real estate with the scaled-back graphics, this baby ought to give you room for even the largest downloadable content pack for Beautiful Katamari.
Do you hear that? It’s a 720p ball of crap, rolling to a game store near you on October 15th! Katamari Nation baby! Believe!
