This is a question that has been on my mind for so very long. What do you do with a company that makes a game and over-hypes it, then the game bombs? Answer: Torpedo the sinking ship!
FASA studios, the company resposible for Shadowrun, was dissolved. Anyone deemed worthy was gobbled up by the other branches of Microsoft Game Studios. Did you not see this coming?
Rumors had surfaced about this in March, before the release of Shadowrun, when there was an employee exodus from the company. I guess they saw the game sucking and decided to jump ship before it sailed.
The community manager and technical support managers are still in place for the five people that still play the game. Don’t worry guys, they still have you covered should you have any problems.
So long FASA, we hardly knew ye. Sorry you didn’t get a chance to redeem yourselves with Shadowrun 2. On the other hand… Thank you thank you thank you Microsoft!
Shocked? Awed? Let us know you reaction on our forums.
