Dance-Dance Revolution is invading public schools all over the US.
DDR? In schools?Could it be that simple? Could it be that three little letters are the remedy to the world’s skyrocketing pediatric obesity crisis (Africa not included)?

This seems to be the latest gimmick for public schools who are looking for new ways to get their students to be active in gym class.

Okay, so nowadays, “gym class” doesn’t include competitive sports? Have the gym teachers have lost control of their students? Since when does “fun” have anything to do with “gym class?” For the love of Ken! In elementary school I had to learn to square dance! (Which explains my deep hatred of country music and NASCAR!)

For my generation, walk or run, you did that mile or you brought a doctors note. Refusal meant failure. Are they no longer failing people for nonparticipation?

I’m tempted to say, “What a sad state the US is in,” but the UK is starting to catch on to this idiocy. I guess many other nations with obesity problems will adopt simular methods as well. I couldn’t be more pissed.

I feel that if I had to do it, so should they. I’ll give em’ a pass on the square dancing, but I want to see some fatt asses running “the mile,” playing basketball, and vomiting after meaningless relays. You know the stuff that builds character.

Next thing you know schools will have giant rooms furnished by Ikea with hundreds of Wii Fits in them. What the hell?

Is DDR going to make you sexy? Tell us about it on our forums.

More of the news that affects you.
