Vatican City – August 24 – The Vatican has stunned millions by officially announcing that they endorsed Nintendo’s Wii videogame system. Working closely with developers, Pope Benedict XVI’s Bless Mii title is under a tight veil of secrecy. An anonymous Church official said security is as tight as an alter boy’s… well, you get the picture.

One detail that the anonymous source confided in us was that the Pope had been walking around the Vatican picking up various Wiimote-sized objects and “air blessing” things with it, which leads us to believe “Bless Mii” will have you actually playing the role of Pope Benedict XVI himself tracking down lost souls begging to be blessed.

When we contacted our local church to gauge reactions to this very public embrace of technology and entertainment from the Vatican, the only person willing to speak on the record was Willy the groundskeeper. I should note that Willy is a gamer. When asked whether he was surprised or not, he said “I always knew deep in my heart that God was a Nintendo fanboy, it just made sense. Ohhh, don’t step in that.”
