Okay, here’s how this rant’s going to go down. I’m going to: state my complaint, expand upon it, give Sony the hypothetical benefit of the doubt, dismiss that, then rip on them a tiny bit more. Are you okay with that? If so, read on.
Why can’t Sony release demos for their PSN games? Why was there no flOw demo? Or Calling All Cars? Even Warhawk (I was in the beta so I guess that counts as a demo, but if you’re asking $40 for it, at least give people a taste of the goodness that awaits them!) It makes no sense. I applaud Microsoft’s mandate that games have demos. I know I can always see what the game is like before I buy it or not (even if it is only for 34.2 seconds… yeah, I’m looking at you Missile Command). Sony’s hit or miss attitude with PSN titles that have demos (oh, excuse me… “starter packs“) makes my tinfoil hat vibrate just a bit. There’s a seed of an conspiracy theorist’s idea there that I don’t know if I can honestly attribute to Sony or not. You see, to mastermind something, you’re required to have some sort of plan. I’m just not convinced they’ve met the minimum requirements there.
Want to read the rest of this rant or tell me how evil demos really are? Do so in our FORUMS, you’ll feel better afterwards, Doc promises!
