To start, while at Quakecon we saw a couple of the Guitar Hero II stations were open and Lono, Doc and I jumped on. Lono was a vet, but for Doc and me it was the first time we actually got to play the game. While we used to ridicule Lono for his Guitar Hero love, after playing it ourselves, we absolutely loved it. I loved it so much; I picked it up upon returning home, despite my meager income. (Thanks mom!).
After making sweet fret love and beating all the songs in the game, I needed more. To my surprise, a new song pack was just released on XBLM with three new master tracks from the alt rockers, My Chemical Romance. The songs included in this pack are Teenagers, Famous Last Words, and This is How I Disappear. Yes, I’ve never heard those songs either. The pack costs 500 points, like the previous packs, and to tell you the truth, I don’t see the hype.
Why must I be charged for songs they obviously thought should have come with the game? 500 points is 6.25 USD, that over $2 a song. That’s a dollar too much. iTunes charges $1.00 per song and they seem to be doing alright. Where’s allofmp3.com when you need them. Oh yeah, a Russian gulag…
All I’m saying is: Red Octane and Micro$oft, please stop charging me so damn much for song packs you clearly want me to have.
Oh and while you’re at it, stop charging me for all those games you want me to have too!
Tired of paying for Guitar Hero songs on XBL? Head over to our FORUMS and complain!
