Bungie confirmed today that the rumored four player cooperative campaign was merely that… a rumor. Bungie spokesman Frank O’Connor, told Xbox360fanboy.com that the team is still “working on a way to properly implement online co-op, but due to parts of the game that will allow players to be nearly a mile apart, which makes online co-op a challenge.” He noted that “measures could be put into the game to prevent such vast separations, but that it would make it not feel like Halo anymore.”
Bungie did leave that 1% door open when O’Conner stated, “If we can make it happen in a way that works well, we will - and if it works badly, we won’t.” Downloadable content anyone? While Halo fanboys are putting the final touches on their suicide pacts as a result of the news, I just want to know how the heck Bungie could not incorporate online co-operative play in Halo 3? They have over 100 people working on this game for the past umpteen years and a bazillion dollars to pour into the project, yet no online co-op??? WTF!?!?! Sucks to be you Halo fanboys…
What do you guys think? Will the lack of co-operative play hurt Halo 3? Can anything hurt Halo 3?
Tell me how wrong I am on our FORUMS!
