I am sure my title doesn’t translate to what I think it does. I apologize to my French and Canadian readers.
Kotaku reported this weekend about how Sony was putting PS3 gaming stations into Roissy/Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports. (Can’t tell if that’s 2 or 3 airports.)
As much as Sony LOVES Sony, I wonder if even they realize what a great idea this is.
Being the cynic that I am, I can’t wait to watch people look up from a game and realize they are about to miss a flight. Oh the fun of watching them tear through the airport like Paris Hilton through diet pills, trying to find their plane.
On a serious note, I’d like to see more of this, though not necessarily just PS3.
- Dentists: If I could play Vegas during a root canal, I’d never miss an appointment. Some dentists already have TV’s and/or Music. Video games are the next logical step.
- Jail: Who’s going to have time to try to escape if there’s a Gears of War tournament coming up?
- DMV: With wireless controllers being the standard now, I don’t see why we couldn’t play some split screen Forza Motorsports while we’re waiting for our tags. Heck, “the man” could weed out a few crappy drivers at the same time.
- Retirement Homes: Forget Grandma. Visiting geriatric residents in a place that smells of juice and urine would be a whole lot more bareable if I could play a little Band of Bugs. I mean the residents get a Wii, I don’t see why visitors couldn’t play some 360.
- Alleys: let’s face it, homeless people smell awful. Put a few PS3’s in some key alleyways, and we’ll never have to step over or around them again. They’d just play and play. Fun for them, great for us. ( Plus homeless people would probably LOVE Sony’s software lineup.)

Give me your top 5 places for a gaming station on our forums. If you’re new, take a moment to register, then comment away!
