View Full Version : The Basic Rules of the SGCP

We're not going to try to rule over anyone with an Iron Fist, but in order to keep the SGCP from getting bogged down in spam or drama, and in order to help you grow your new shows, there will be a couple of rules... none too painful.

Keep it clean - Nobody wants to listen to how many different ways you can say genitalia, and we do not want the SGCP's to be explicit in nature.

Keep it short - No more than 20 minutes. We have real bandwidth and time issues here, and can't listen (any more than your fans will want to) to a 2 hour dissertation on Mario's wardrobe.

Keep it in the family - All cast members will need to be registered members of the Sarcastic Gamer community (these forums) and be in good standing. By good standing I mean they've been here a bit and have at least a few dozen posts under their belt.

Keep it original - Find your own way and do what makes you happy. If you want to sing a whole podcast then sing it. If you want to interview dust, then by all means don't let me stop you, but keep putting your best foot forward, because each episode WILL be posted in "The Shows" for open (and likely honest) discussion.

We have the right to refuse a submission if any of the stuff above is violated, so follow the rules and have fun!

We'll get into the technical specs for your audio next.

I have a friend who is not a member of the forum, but is the person who introduced me to SG. Does that count as a credit for him?

I'm guessing about 50, as a dozen is 12 and a 'few' usually means 3-4

Are outsider communities allowed to do "guest Podcasts"?

Silk, the rules are that all podcasters submitting podcasts must be SGC members in good standing.

Hope that answers that.

sort of... What if Viatrophy wanted to do a guest Saprcastic Gamer/Brutal Gamer podcast? Is that allowed, so long as they are good standing members?

All community shows will be branded as sarcasticgamer.com Community Podcasts, not the Sarcasticgamer.com Community podcast with Brutalgamer.com or whatever.

Does that mean that all of the podcast submissions will be all tittled the same thing? SGC podcast with this weeks host X, Y, Z? Or would it be more like 'The Random Gamer Show, a SGC podcast'?

Are you going to limit it to only a single SGC show per week or will you have 10 recuring SGC shows?

Also, I saw that somebody asked if all hosts had to be in good standing, but I did not see the answer on that one.

As I understand the FAQ, we provide you with a complete show (including editing), you then add an intro/outro to it, provide it with the SGC brand and then host it as part of the SG site? Does this also include putting it on iTunes and Zune etc?

When are inputs due? Weekly, Monthly etc...

Can we plug other sites?

My co-hosts (work friend and brother) have been listening for few months now...all have recently joined the community. They better get their post count up! We're excited about recording our first episode tomorrow night!
