...I want crossplatforming.... though Ill admit, I want it for co-op modes. Vs modes, I understand it being a dumb idea (it would only become flamewar bait), but co-op... it just makes it easier to play with other people.

Does not compute... if there's not more (a lot more) money in it, it likely won't happen. I'm still waiting to see if Huxley (that game that I think has been actively wiped from the memory of the entire planet by Men In Black style memory erasers) even ends up launching with its different style cross platform play. I seem to remember PCs and 360s playing different style games in the same world, realtime or something. It all looked terribly boring an uninspired to me but it was one of those things that Microsoft pimped a while back as being the future (like IPTV and selling your own stuff on Live) that has basically just vanished.

Cross platform play is not necessarily easy to do reliably, to balance reliably, or to make money off of. All those factors work AGAINST it. I'm not strongly against it, but I want it done for reasons other than a bullet point on a marketing sheet.

Dave cut the 6 minutes of Frawlz cussing out Pacman... if it helps, just get a tone generator and replicate the censor tone. Play that tone constantly for 6 minutes and that's what that segment of the podcast would've sounded like... one big censor bleep. :lol:

just want to say that i listen to all sarcasticgamer.com podcasts, they are my favorites out of any other gaming podcast i listen to. i haven't been a member of the site though until today after i listen to the latest PS pod.

i thought i'd chime in, since pacman doesn't seem to know what he's talking about. with the piracy issue, 360 games weren't avail on launch day for download, a few months down the road and sure, they figured out how to dump them. it still took some time to play them.

ps3 games, same thing, they have been out there for a long long time, only problem is that bluray blank media is expensive, so it's just been a slower process to get the ball rolling on how to play them.

but, think back to the Dreamcast, u didn't even need to mod it or do anything, u just downloaded a game, burned to CD, and played it.

the next thing, trophies, pacman says he doesn't get it, well, because he doesn't have any, and the trophy system is too new to get addicted to comparing with your friends. i know so many people that said the same thing about 360 achievements, and who cares, until they started getting them and comparing. it's fun, adds more stuff to the game.

and no, i don't play pirated games, simply because i'm mostly an online gamer and these days that doesn't work LOL. i just don't like when there is too much misinformation about something, which is common for pacman (don't take offense, just havin fun, isn't that what this site is about?)

Blank Blu-ray media isn't remotely related to this... if you only had to buy $20 blank Blu-ray media and a burner to pirate $60 games, people would do it. The fact of the matter is that viable piracy hasn't hit the PS3 yet. Those early disc images could've been fundamentally flawed and nobody would've ever known the difference because there was no way to USE them. I mean I could copy random bytes from /dev/random into a file of an appropriate size and tell you it's Metal Gear Solid 4, but until someone, somewhere can take that disc, insert it into a hacked PS3 and play the game from it, it might as well be a Disney movie or blank...

The reason piracy is so much more prevalent on say the PSP and 360 is that there's no additional hardware needed, no soldering, etc. The 360 has its Live connectivity to discourage piracy (get caught once, get banned for life, etc.) but out of the 360, Wii, and PS3, the PS3 has fared far better.

so far yes, and i absolutely agree with u, except for bluray having nothing to do with it. for trial and error purposes, i could purchase 100 dvdrs for $10, but to do the same for ps3, would be about $2000. now, i'm not saying that ps3 isn't very secure and modding is harder, all i'm saying is that we don't know yet. and, if u can play the games off the HDD, well, thats even worse, and easier, than the 360. my only point i was trying to make was that, images of games were available very close to launch for both systems, and that you couldn't play pirated games on 360 at launch like pacman said. i'm not for piracy, trust me, i just traded in a bunch of unopened games LOL

No... the only current "proven" (and I use that term loosely) exploit involves cloning a hard drive (an hours long process) to play a copy of one game. This is a cat and mouse game I bet the hackers won't "win" anytime soon... as Sony continues to make PSN, your account, and updates more and more important, that all works against piracy.

I get what you're saying, but at this point, the hard drive based piracy is nothing like say with the Xbox where you could just pump it full of games until you ran out of space.

yep, your totally correct. DC, PS2, PSP, Xbox, were very good systems for piracy. 360 was tougher, and i agree, so far, ps3 seems the best. hey, i don't want the piracy, i was just trying to poke "sarcastic" fun at pacman, since i'm probably the most sarcastic person i know lol. 1 thing is for sure, they will always find a way to pirate games

It does seem this show is shorter then the red show maybe because of the tangents you all seem to get on :lol:

Also as far as cross platform I would love to have that implemented and be able to play with friends that have a different console then I, make it so those games don't count if it is unfair or whatever but still being able to play with them would be nice, but not a necessity.

And i have a theory about Pacman's PS3. He DOES have one but he doesnt actually know how to connect it to the internet so he has made up an excuse about his internet being "broken" while he scours books, magazines and help guides for how to do it
