yep you heard me, EA games is currently in production of a survival Horror game that will be mixed with Resident Evil, Doom 3, and Gears of War.
Executive Producer Glen Schofield commented, “This team has worked on some tremendous properties but we have always wanted to work on something that was darker and creepier. We are all such huge fans of the horror and sci-fi genres; we wanted to create the most terrifying game we could, and keep the player on the edge of his seat the entire time.”
The premise of the games is that you and a team of engineers go in to repair a mining ship after they had gotten a distress call. When they get there, its not all its cracked up to be and the crew of the ship are dead.
The main character is an engineer by trade, so his combat skills arent very good. So he will be ill prepaired for the events that will unfold
"he's not Master Chief. He's not from Killzone or any other kind of space Marine thing where they've got Big Armor and are like 'come get me," says Art director Ian Millham "If you put Master Chief in a horror game, youre not gonna be that scared. That guy can take hordes of aliens. We want [Isaac] to look cool, but at the same time maybe your not all that safe. He's vulnerable"
Like Bioshock, the story will unfold with clues and hints in the game, so you the player will be as confused as Isaac himself.
"you are learning the Story along with him, Were keeping everything in game. There are scripted events, Audio logs, and video logs. There are no cutscenes" says Schofield
The devolopers say that this is not a shooter, its a survival horror. You will be frequently outnumbered with low ammo, to highten the sense of survival horror.
Note: this is in 3rd person view. Also I will later post scanned pics from my gameinformer Magazine, unless anyone can find some of the interwebs and would like to post them.
