So Halo 3 LE apparently has serious packaging issues.

apparently some plastic nub in the packaging fails to hold the discs and they shake around and get all scratched up.

I cancelled my order and pre-ordered the game $20 cheaper from Sam's Club instead.

I guess that means a trip to Blockbuster the moment I pick it up.

I'll return it as many times as it takes so that I don't get a scratched disk, though. I still want all the bonus features without having to pay $130.

I'll just fix mine at Blockbuster. $4 and I've got a perfect working disc (unless the scratch is REALLY bad).

This is something that has happened with almost every game that I have ever seen come in a non-standard case...

A friend just opened 3 copies of Halo 3 Limited Edition and with all three copies both disc were loose inside of the package and scratched to death.

Even if the story is of doubtful veracity it's still a better idea in my mind is opt for the cheaper edition that really doesn't have that much less than the L.E... You know, "just to be sure."

This is a very well known high street shopping chain, and they are getting there asses sued like you would not believe, it even made the national news over here.

Yeah, but it still happened, and plenty of people got their copies early because of it.
