What OS are you using? If it's Windows, you have a recording software built in, somewhere in Start > Accessories.

That I do. Does it automatically save it to the correct format for the guys to use on the podcast?

I guess it saves to .wav, doesn't it? .mp3 is a more acceptable format as far as I know, and converting .wav to .mp3 isn't difficult.

If you check in the settings within the sound recorder,
I'll be surprised if you cant just save it straight to .mp3

it cannot be saved to .mp3 sadly... Well I have one saved... now do I just email it to lono, doc, or dave? or is there a special place for it?

No, you can't save to mp3 directly in sound recorder; it doesn't have the right codecs. Audacity, however, comes with the ability to save to mp3, OGG, wav, and raw. I love Audacity...

Audacity is a brilliant freeware sound recording utility. You can cut any snippet out of any sound and record anything easily.

be sure to set it to 44100, or 128 kbps.

What I did before just recently realizing I can use Nero, was use the PC recorder, import it into iTunes, then convert it to an mp3, then delete the original file so I did not accidentally send that to Dave.

Audacity is where I record my voice, and make my own ringtones. Thank You Blu Tooth!

If you do go for audacity then you have to download the LAME mp3 encoder to export as an mp3 file. Well at least that's what you had to do when I first got it.

Are you suggesting that we go and purchase a thousand dollar Mac just to get our voices on the SG show?
