A few months after rushing to market with a game that wasn't finished yet, Sony has finally released the Time Attack add-on to what is, in my honest opinion, the only reason to own a PS3 as of today. Motorstorm.

They've also added a cool ghost mode that allows you to upload your ghost so that other people can race against it. Hmm. Why not just RACE AGAINST OTHER PEOPLE online? Oh wait... This isn't X-box Live. I keep getting my consoles mixed up.

Umm... *you can race against other people online... it's called "Online" mode. You've been able to ever since the US launch of the game (the Japanese version just got their online support recently and are limited to Japanese servers/opponents). *The Ghost mode or Time Attack is for a different kind of competition. *Racing in an online race is a chaotic test of drive skill to both keep on the road and come out in first place... the emphasis is on battling others for the best line(s) on the track... in other words, you're hardly ever in a position where you're racing the best you can on a track because every time it's different depending on who you're racing.

Time Attack gives you a chance to prove your best time on a track when you're the only one there (oddly enough, with no Practice mode this seems to be the only way to have the track to yourself too).

It's a worthy addition.

If you're wanting to mock someone and compare them to Xbox Live racers... why not look at an Xbox Live racer, like, say... Dirt. *Which features NO online racing content at ALL and it's ON Xbox Live. *You race against ghosts only. *So yeah, MotorStorm's a fun target, but this particular argument better fits Dirt than MotorStorm. *;)

dirt is COlin McRae Racing dressed up in a really bad motorstorm costume. I hate that game. There was nothing original about it at all. Motorstorm on the other hand was one of the best racing games I have ever played.

I wasn't saying you couldn't play online , I just didn't get the big deal about ghost mode. I meant to say Why do that when you can do this?

Gotcha. Well, if nothing else it gives you the track to yourself so you can avoid having a 12 yr old run you off a cliff while calling you a n00b... with spectators.
