I'm in a right 'sticky' situation with the boycott.. due to I've loved every battlefield game for a long long time now.. and I had such high hopes for this game..
I would usually back you guys within a heart beat, but this is the only time I'm having to think twice.. I won't be buying any content thats fo' sure. So I'm really not sure what to do :(

Another great show! When y'all were talking about moving up in iTunes rankings, I decided to go check it out for myself and when I clicked on the Games & Hobbies category, sure enough, there was SG on the front page! Way to go guys! You definitely deserve some recognition for this outstanding podcast.

I've "joined" the Bad Company boycott. I've been frustrated with EA an DICE since the BF2 days. I logged almost 600 hours on that game (check it out here (http://bf2s.com/player/48005366/) if you don't believe me) and though I loved playing it, the lack of support and retarded patches made it a very frustrating love. If they were going to lower the price for the game initially, I might be down with forking over some cash for a cool new weapon, but expecting us to pay full retail for the game and then pay more for weapons that, as Lono mentioned, have already been made is utter crap. It's now official: EA + BF = BS!

It's nothing to great. Granted I've only played 2142, but there's nothing even remotely the same translated over... They didn't even put in a prone option!!!

You also have to utilize your grenades. Battles can be decided quickly by who can hit the other person with a grenade first. Plus it's great to blow up enemy mines, hopefully taking them out with a mine explosion.

I left a comment on the main post (front page) along the same lines... I also pointed out that crouching increases accuracy and you can pull slightly up and "potentially" get a head shot, killing the enemy faster.

Hey, guys I have finally been able to get back to this site after a few months of not being able too! Yay. This was a awesome podcast as usual. I also went and just wanted to listen to lono on gamerdork. He is so humble on other peoples podcast, yet here he is a ass. Wow!

I am kinda surprised that no one mentioned the latest on EA's hostile attempt to acquire Take Two. Although I guess that would just be icing on the cake in our hatred for EA due to the boycott. After all the crap of this past weekend, you guys have delivered two things I really needed. :grin:

First of all, clearly, it was the Podcast that put the smile back on my face. Hell, i loved the opening Bad Company ad so much, I played through that part twice before continuing on through the rest of the Podcast. Also, on the subject of the conversation around Bad Company and its DLC, EA has been doing this crap for a while now. I'm going to focus on two examples; Rock Band and Prostreet.

With Rock Band, on day one there was already 11 songs for download. Granted, they were actual downloads and not just stuff that was previously on the disk, and I'd say even the packs (Metallica and The Police) felt like real DLC, but what was up with the 5 individual songs? Why weren't they included on the disk as more Bonus Tracks? Granted, I'm no insider and for all I know those songs were finalized after the game went gold, but it just feels ... off.

But a greater concern is with Prostreet. Same day the game came out, you could download Packs that added more events and cars ... packs that were a whole 102kb big (aka, unlock keys). This is the greater evil of the current generation of gaming and EA is milking it for all its worth with so many games its pathetic. Like you guys, if I slap down $60 for a game, I expect to be able to access all $60 of disk, not a chunk of it with the rest only accessible after I cough up another $5-10.

When it comes to Bad Company, it will be interesting to see if the DLC is already on the disk or not, but the thing I think bugs me about the whole Bad Company deal is that it still hasn't gone gold and they are already having fun announcing DLC that will be out at the same time as the game. Clearly they are already working on it, and who knows, they could have been working on it from the beginning and it wasn't a last minute decision, and I think most of the fans of the series would be willing to wait an extra two or whatever weeks to inure these guns and such actually end up in the game and accessible without extra cost.

I guess the real division for me is that if they are working on content for the future, thats one thing, but content that is out at the same time and they want you to fork over more for it, especially if its already on the disk, is one of the worst things to happen to gaming.

Secondly, I woke up to find that my shirt was here ^_^ $20 well spent ... don't let Lono spend it all.

Finally, on the subject of those that criticize you for talking too much 360 and not enough PS3, I have this to say. One of the things I love about Sarcastic Gamer so much is that you all talk only about things you know about. Yes, there is a large amount of 360 talk and posts, but considering you all own 360's, you have a great base to come from. I would rather listen to a Podcast (like Sarcastic Gamer) where they talk about thing they know then to ramble on endlessly about things they have no basis for, like so many other shows and TV News stations.

On the other hand, now that two of the members of SG have their PS3's, I'm sure you'll hear more about the system, its games, its pluses and minuses ... so just chill for now. If you are that desperate to hear people ramble on about something, regardless if they know anything about it or not, this is not a place for you. That's what Fox News is for.
