Wow Doc, you went berserk on Katamari without even giving the game a chance and the fact that it isn't even out yet. I'm one of the "tons of people that will disagree with you" like Lono said. I'm with Lono in thinking that it will be the sleeper hit of the year also.

Katamari Damacy is by far one of the most innovative games that came out for the PS2 and was one of my favorites on the system. And I'm not one of those people that "goes to a coffee shop, to look cool and wears glasses even though they're empty or glass lenses and only say I like it because other people say they like it" as you said. I had the game before it was even popular. I even showed it to everyone of my hardcore gamer friends because I thought it was such a unique and fun game and they all borrowed it from me and beat it and loved it.

Go find Katamari Damacy for $5 and play it. I haven't met anyone that has sat down for more than 5 minutes and played that game that hasn't loved it.

Another horibble podcast, as usual........I mean great job. I loved the song (MC Fragsalot is gonna be pissed).

Quite the emotional episode. Doc, Lono I'm pretty sure couples counciling is cheap these days so you might want to look into that. I personally have to agree with doc on this one. No matter what cooling advantages there are I think that a 360 standing up is an accident waiting to happen. Unless it is proped against a wall a simple vibration through the surface it is on could be enough to knock it over. To me 60 for a game is a lot and Im sure others will agree. Also seeing as my budget allows for buying a max 4 a year. (at a 60 price point) I treat my games very carefully.

Still making my way through episode 5 while winding down from my PAX trip... thought I'd toss out a fact correction about the PS2s... they're $129, not $149. They're expected to drop the PS2 price again before Xmas...

No matter what cooling advantages there are I think that a 360 standing up is an accident waiting to happen. Unless it is proped against a wall a simple vibration through the surface it is on could be enough to knock it over.

I lay down my 360 when taking it places that allow me to, but at home my setup only allows for my 360 to stand up. My TV is in a space in a cabinet, and is shifted all the way to the right. The 360 is standing immediately to its left with a few inches of space on each side of it for cooling.

So while I agree that it is better to have the console laid down when possible, I like being able to stand it up because that's the only way it will fit right now.

(That's going to change when I buy a new widscreen PC monitor and a VGA output cable for my 360.)

Katamari is F'ing moronic and it looks like a re-re made it.... thats all I got to say about that.

On my 3rd listen I finally heard the Doc Brown reference - LMAO. The more you listen to it the better it gets. Once again, great song Doc and Lono.

I had a song title pop in my head the other day - Gears of War Pigs. Probably hard to write, but the title cracks me up. I am easily amused though.

Hey everyone. I'm from the Gamercast Network forums, which you guys have joined. I'm really glad that you've decided to join the Network. That said, I've become somewhat of a podcast critic (I listen to a lot) and as Vicious from Unclegamer knows, I'm harsh and unrestrained when I do give criticism where it's warranted, so I've come to give you guys my opinion of the podcast.

I really didn't enjoy this podcast. Yeah, it was funny, but it came off forced unlike the natural humour that attracts me to VGS While it may have been off-the-cuff, it didn't really give me any real connection with you guys, it felt like radio, which while some might consider a compliment, I stopped listening to radio because I prefer the more human podcast style. You guys also have extremely patchy news, you don't know what you're talking about most of the time, you're talking about news articles you haven't bothered researching, or even reading and then giving analysis of the game industry from that. I personally think that you guys went for Style over substance and that's something I disagree with. What I think you guys should do is change the podcast format. If you're not going to properly research news you discuss, then you shouldn't discuss it in an analytical way at all. I think you guys should either go over-the-top sarcastic funny, so that no one thinks you actually agree with what you're spouting, or just not report on current news, there are other formats you could consider, such as discussing games, gaming, gamers in a humourous way.

You guys aren't Unclegamer. I've blasted Vicious and Liqualife in the past for having missing facts and not considering the angles you need to when they seriously debate videogaming topics, I don't think you're aiming for that, but still, you need to at least have a perfunctory knowledge of the industry, of the technical parts behind gaming, of current trends and of gaming as an emergent media if you're going to comment on it.

Specifically (this is one of many missing angles) The Bioshock to PS3 rumour. The file that was reported on is available in full text from the articles that you guys got the news from. It was clear that it did refer to PS3 as a console. The angle that none of you considered is that Bioshock is based upon the Unreal Engine, which is a multiplatform engine, and that engine readme files often make it all the way through development and are integrated into the game specific readme files such that allusions to PS3 games may appear in the final product even if there were never any plans for a PS3 game, or the game is Xbox 360 exclusive. If Bioshock was a PC exclusive, it still would have PS3 and Xbox 360 'marker's in the readme because of the engine it's based upon.

Microsoft would jump through proverbial flaming hoops smothered with kerosene jelly to get WoW on the Xbox 360. They already have MMOs on the Xbox 360, PSU and FF11 are both MMOs and their structure is already determined, you can play these games even if you're a silver member if you pay the monthly fee.

Dude, I'm just glad you gave it a try.

We try not to take ourselves too seriously, and if you can stomach another one of our shows, I thnk you'll hear that, without apologizing for it, episode 4 was about as heavy as we've ever been about any issues.

Nobody on our show has ever pretended to be an expert in anything, and I think the fact that the Bioshock chit chat was followed by a story about Pudding-cooled cpu's is a pretty good indicator of that.

Sander, in any event, I want to say how happy I am that you joined our forums, and I look forward to watching you set some sh&t straight around here. Some of our regular members have no idea what they are in for.

That said, with regards to the podcast, we make no apologies, we only look forward, and it's serving us well so far.

SLIGHT DEFENSIVE: Nobody said that this was an indicator of anything. Drew brought it up cuz he was confused about it, and Lono told him that, basically, it takes a lot more to make a game for the PS3 than a line of code.

Well, GamePro (http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=130348) (yeah, I know) has an anonymous "inside source" that pretty much says it's coming...An inside source tells us that the critically acclaimed BioShock for Xbox 360 and PC is, in fact, on its way to PS3 after all.

When asked if BioShock would be coming to PS3, our contact informed us that we'd be wrong to think the game wouldn't be released on Sony's console at a later date.

UPDATE: We can't name the source, but this individual is in a position to know. Still, the information can't be confirmed until 2K Games makes an official statement, and should still be treated with a grain of salt.

This new statement validates news from Tuesday, where eagle-eyed BioShock demo owners discovered a snippet of code listing both Xbox 360 and PS3 as consoles under a file setting.

It should be noted that BioShock uses the Unreal graphics engine, which supports select Xbox 360, PC, and PS3 games.

2K Games was not immediately available for comment.

Ken Levine's denial of a PS3 BioShock was worded awkwardly in such a way that it could be completely 100% true yet there is still a PS3 BioShock in the works... his wording specifically was: "There's no development going on that we're keeping from people."

So can there be development for a PS3 version that someone else is keeping from people? Is there a rough build of BioShock for the PS3 that's currently sitting there unpolished due to the ongoing improvements of the Unreal Engine 3 and the "exclusivity window" they've got to let it sit? I mean if it wasn't coming out for 6 months, it might be worth letting it simmer for 2-3 months and then use that last 3 months to polish it up with the newest release of UE3. Technically that could also allow him to make his "denial" statement with a straight face.

Bottom line, there's been no announcement of Microsoft owning the rights to BioShock, the publishing rights to BioShock, or any statements that it will definitively stay an exclusive. All these points lead to the future possibility that it could be released on the PS3. I have seen NOTHING to prove to me that it will not be coming. In Gears of War's case, Microsoft has the lock down on the first 3 Gears games if I remember correctly. There's no way Gears could hit the PS3. That's nowhere near the case (as far as the public knows) for BioShock.

If it takes 6 months to finally get to PS3, what is the point? I guarantee anybody that wants to play it will have by then since you can play it on 360 or PC. Even if it does come out, are PS3 fanboys going to brag because they get to play a game that 360 owners all beat 6 months prior? Haha, it's fun arguing with you cuz you do a pretty good job of humbling me every once in awhile. I would completely understand if BioShock ported to the PS3 because it equals more sales for them with not a whole lot of work. I am one of those people. My PC is circa 2002 yet I have a 360, PS3 and a Wii. Well, my 360 died on me, but I'll have it again as soon as they return it.

Rothbart, Gamepro has about as much credibility as my left boot. (I don't have boots).

That said, Ken Levine has gone on record stating that they are not working on a PS3 version, nor are they planning to in the immediate future. If they started on a PS3 version today, it could take 6-12 months to get it ready, given the extremely difficult job that most developers have had to get games on the PS3, and thats when a PS3 version was planned from the very start.
At this point, Bioshock->PS3 is almost not even a rumour, it's speculation and dreams. Anonymous sources that only GAMEPRO has access to? Come on man...

I have to agree with Sander here. While it is still popssible it is remotely unlikely. Also does the little box that says, "Only on Xbox 360 and Windows." Count for anything these days? Besides I'm pretty sure microsoft paid for the exclusivety.
