Ok well I own a Silve slim psp now so woot to me. Anyways I have an 8gb memory card on way to me so I can put music on it and use it as an mp3 player as well. I have a couple of questions.
One, can you make playlists on the PSP for your songs?
Two, what is the battery life like playing music only?
Three, are there any software mods or what have you that let me play my music while playing a game?

1) There is a 'group mode' but I can't figure out what it's for and the manual's no help. Other than that, there doesn't seem to be anything on the normal firmware for playlisting. If you have permanent playlists you could make them on the computer, then copy them on.
2) I played music for 5 minutes at medium volume and the battery charge went down 1%. That projects over 8 hours but I've never had it run that long. After that I left it for 5 minutes while I checked something and it went down 2%, even though I had 7 and a half hours left according to the system. The safety and support manual says you'll get more battery life by charging from a USB than from using the adapter, so that should help. It also says the battery life varies depending on conditions.
3) I'm hopefully getting custom firmware soon, but for now I'm not sure about the mods. I do know that a lot of mods have been/can be made, so chances are you can do it somehow. I'd recommend getting a portal, they're these cool things that run in your browser and let you do tons of stuff.
