Disclaimer - I'm sorry if I offend people with any language within this thread, but I am past the point of angry now.

Right, simple.
WHY?!

Why do people do it, I can live with team killing being done within normal Hardcore team deathmatch (although it is still damn annoying) as like.. I can still pull it back on my own, but when its done on Hardcore Search And Destroy, its beyond a ****ing joke.

Game starts, instantly some little brat fires a rpg at the ground and kills are whole team, this happens constantly until the end of the game, And what does the kid team killing get for punishment? NOTHING.
You see that 'minus' points they have on the scoreboard during the match? All that stands for is the kid won't gain any points that round.
It doesn't get deducted from his total experience.

Why is nothing being done against these complete and utter faggots?!

Does anyone else agree with me when there should be a limit to team killing within a game 'till there kicked?
why is nothing already in place to stop people ruining games for everyone else?

Oh and before people start going 'only play with friends' or 'dont play hardcore then'
I love hardcore & do play it with friends, but if I can't get a full team going I pray that I don't get lumbered with the twats.

well they do it to get people upset like you. i do agree with you that it is the most obnoxious thing in the whole world. I wish i could reach thru the tv and punch the little f-ing bastards in the face. They dont care that they ruin the experiance for other people. then when you get pissed at them they say its just a game and that you take it to seriously . but they dont care that your playing to have fun and by team killing they are making it not fun for anybody else. i hope these kids walk in front of a bus.

Exactly.
They need to bring back the 'vote to kick' option from Shadowrun.
That thing worked perfectly.

Yep. Thats why I don't play hardcore anymore. Same thing with Halo 3, don't dare pickup a power weapon with a team mate nearby. I don't understand why IW missed adding a vote to kick button, as far as I know EVERY COD game had one.

I think this simple but well established formula expresses your plight;

'Peeples = Stoopid'

I think you'll find it can be applied to almost any field of thought or action!

I've sort of created a "Caste" system for humanity. Only the better people are closer to the top and amount of people per group vary. You've got:

1:BEST-Truly honest and humble people who sacrifice for the good of humanity and society in general

2: Moral People (people who know how to act, what's right [helping others] and wrong [killing, mocking others])

3:People who usually do the right thing

4:People who keep to themselves, just don't contribute to "the greater good", but don't hurt others, either

5:Jerks (people who are usually rude)

6:Obnoxious A-holes (people who are constantly rude)

7:Scum (does everything [and I mean everything] in their power to disrupt the lives of others)

It's a little crude, but I find it useful in categorizing people I run into, both online and in real life.

They're griefers. They get a kick out of making other people miserable in online games.

and remember viatrophy, you laughed at the TF2 griefer videos. The griefers for cod4 just have a limited way to express it, so they do it by team killing...

@Duffman, That's a great caste system!!

I guess in the grand scheme of things, i'm a 3-4 in your system... online and off, i've got to be a 2-3 in my career...

I think online most of the fellas AIM to be 5,6 and 7 all the time...

This is always going to be a problem when you have no deterrent for being an arse.

@Artemis, the Halo betrayal system is pretty good though, It actually keeps track of past betrayals. If you don't betray often (accidents) it will take a couple of kills until a boot screen comes up, on the other hand betray often and it comes up immediately.

The only difference is that those TF2 video's seemed so staged.
oh & the situations of those videos could easily of been avoided but the people in them were so stupid they kept going to the same place over and over again.

It is nice that you can kick then after two or three betraytals but the problem I have is like on BTB if I try to pick up the sniper rifle someone kills me and takes it and this happends to me every time, it's just annoying (and whoever takes it most of the time can't hit any thing.)
But it is nowhere near as bad as COD4 I can certainly agree to that.

Don't give them any more attention. Find several servers you like that have good admins, or several clan guys and play there.

I don't play hardcore, since usually I end up killing teammates with my own grenades. I also don't play Search and Destroy, mainly because I don't like being forced to sit out for a round because some jackass has learned the exact angle and cook time of a grenade to hit the spawn point 5 seconds into a match.

I personally think team-killing scum like that should be banned from Xbox Live, but alas.. I have no say in the matter. My only suggestion would be to not play Hardcore S&D with people you don't know. You can't trust them. It's bad enough in Mercenary Team Deathmatch just trying to organize the random people on your team into a cohesive group. I can't imagine what it's like when they're able to kill you.

I try my best not to even play with randoms anymore, my blood pressure just can't take it. Since joining this community, my Friend's List has about quadrupled, and there's always someone playing CoD4 for me to jump in with. I understand that there's not always 5 other people playing to form a party for the gametype you want to play, but I'd rather play Search and Destroy with 5 friends than my preferred Domination with 5 randoms.

I know. I was just trying to make a point. And for the most part those griefers were either quite creative, which I give them props for, or they did it out of revenge, which is acceptable in my book as well. I still hate the douche bags that TK in COD4 because they are uncreative plus the only deterrent is that they suicide after a couple of TK, and their spawn time is longer. But that doesn't really fix things in Search and Destroy when you only have 1 life.

I don't understand why IW missed adding a vote to kick button, as far as I know EVERY COD game had one.

Exactly. I mean, (I know I'm most likely going to get a bit of stick for this but..) I've occasionally teamkilled. BUT, that is ONLY when one of my teammates has been verbally abusing someone else, or has also been teamkilling. I know, this would lead into a chain of teamkilling, but I honestly think that the only way that these pre-pubescant, immature brats is if they get, as the phrase goes, a taste of their own medicine.
And for a further but, I've only ever done this on shooters that specifically didn't have the "vote to boot" option, because it's just not right that a game should be lost because one selfish, attention-seeking (sorry for the generalisation, but this comes from my personal experience with almost every single teamkiller) under-certificate-rated spoilt brat.
Hopefully, Infinity Ward will be developing a "Vote to Kick" update to COD4. After all, it does seem like a pretty serious flaw in the multiplayer design. And, as Artemis mentioned, all the other ones had it, perhaps it's time they realised that this also needs one. But, then again, this game HAS been phenominally more successful than the other Call Of Dutys... perhaps they see the removal of VTB part of this reason?

This may seam a little bit blunt but all you can do is file a complaint and bad player review them. Thats it. People say it does not work but thats because not many people use it, almost every game I end of file complainting them and I have seem many people send me messages say that they have been banned. (not sure how if there banned but they do)

viatrophy
03-19-2008, 07:39 PM
If they've sent you a message saying there banned, thats called lying.
due to they would never know that you had reported them..

also @ hobo, were not discussing what we can do at the end of the game,
The point is they are ruining a game in progress, which we need being sorted.

Playing God. Joking.

Anyway, I have team killed once, but it was my first search and destroy match, and I was clicking away with impatience for the current round to end. Before I know people are screaming at me, and my God, I left that server so fast. The lesson I learned that day was never ever play search and destroy, and its been a month now since playing that round, and I feel great.....:roll:

Yeah, my first experience with hardcore ended with many badly thrown grenades. It was on Vacant, and while trying to toss a grenade out of the door down the long hallway, it bounced back into the room all of us were standing it. That was the last time I played Hardcore. 4, almost 5 betrayals at once.

I agree with you. It really annoys me when people try to get revenge on someone they team killed, as the guy revenge killed everyone but one person on the team, and that person was the one who team killed him. I think CoD does need a couple of crucial tweaks, even the spawn system. I cannot tell you how many times I have spawned INSIDE of an enemy at the start of the game.
