I think when you get to the end of the game (credits or whatever) then you beat it. Some people think you must do everything you can like side-missions and things. What do you think?

View Full Version : What do you consider beating a game? [A7X]Batty 03-16-2008, 04:24 PM I think when you get to the end of the game (credits or whatever) then you beat it. What do you think? dark sora 03-16-2008, 04:34 PM I would say getting to the end constitutes "beating" the game, I personally always go for side missions. animathias 03-16-2008, 05:01 PM Getting to the end is "Beating" a game for me. "Completing" the game is getting everything. Artemis 03-16-2008, 05:08 PM For me, beating the game is finishing the main story line. 100%ing the game is finishing EVERYTHING from main story to side quest achivements/skill points and if your really obssed with it easter eggs. Necro9 03-16-2008, 06:13 PM Getting to the end is "Beating" a game for me. "Completing" the game is getting everything. "Completing" the game is getting everything. ditto yourshadow 03-16-2008, 09:42 PM Beating a game to me is to finish the storyline, like for a RPG, just finishing the main story line is beating it, even if you don't do all the side quests. Diortem 03-16-2008, 10:06 PM If you beat it, you won.... now if you really liked it, it's up to you if you want to go above and beyond.... Truth N Justice 03-16-2008, 10:28 PM beating a game is getting to the credits and finishing the story line or whatever. But i love to go back and play games to see all that the devs wanted me to see. plus they usally are for achievments . ProNinjaX 03-17-2008, 01:01 AM Getting to the end. "Completing" the game is getting everything. agreed Meta666 03-17-2008, 03:48 PM You get the ending then you beat the game. You get every skill/weapon/item/side quest then you decimated the game. janzantinga 03-17-2008, 05:01 PM The only reason I would keep playing a game after the credits is if it had fun multiplayer. ploogle 03-17-2008, 06:38 PM Getting to the end is beating the game for me. Anything else is just there to enhance my enjoyment and/or to give me something to do after I've gotten to the end. MightyMutt 03-20-2008, 10:08 AM When the credits roll, you've beat the game. In UK we use a phrase that I do not see Americans using and that is to 'clock' a game. You might say "I just clocked Halo in legendary" Duffman X18 03-22-2008, 12:10 AM Getting to the end is "Beating" a game for me. "Completing" the game is getting everything. QFT Whenever I finish the main story arch, I say "I have beaten the game on X-difficulty." Then, if I feel compelled to play more until I have absolutely unlocked everything possible, ala Ace Combat 4 & 5 on the PS2, then I say "I have completed the game." slik1000 03-22-2008, 08:46 AM To sell a PS3 to me I would simply need a refund for my broken '360 photomaster94 03-22-2008, 11:51 AM it depends on the game. in like resistance i would say getting to the end but in like lego star wars (not the complete saga edition) i would say getting a 100% SWF Joker 03-23-2008, 08:41 AM getting to the end n00bhunter 03-23-2008, 06:56 PM definately getting to the end but..either all as if you do everything you finish it anyway dont you? DeathByWaffle 03-23-2008, 07:00 PM Well I usually just think it is beating the story line, I really don't think you need to do all the side missions (except in some games, when it actually adds to the story), but maybe thats just because I am lazy. piston11792 03-23-2008, 08:27 PM credits = beating lack of social life = completing [A7X]Batty 03-23-2008, 08:28 PM To sell a PS3 to me I would simply need a refund for my broken '360 ????? gamer1001 03-25-2008, 10:16 PM definitely getting to the end, but for games like brawl where you unlock characters I will try to also do that PopTrogdor 03-25-2008, 10:18 PM the side missions are perks, everything else is the real game chris24680 03-27-2008, 08:51 AM game are to big now to woory about 100% completion i mean how many people have acutally compleated any grand theft auto game 100%.
