Well they are making a Max Payne movie.

First of all I have a question. Was Max Payne 2 a good game? Because it seems they are making the movie based on the second game. I might be wrong, I haven't played Max Payne since it came out and I beat it a week later.
P.S. Just saw the same thread by PMPB in the SG News. I apologize, didn't see it the first time I searched "Max Payne"

We may as well discuss it here.
Im sure some of you around here know what a huge Max Payne fanboy I am. The second game was just as atmospheric in my opinion - tt was very dark and so captivatingly engrossing!
I really hope this movie is ok but sadly I have heard reports that they are trying to make this PG-13 - Would that capture the mood?
Obviously it will get the Hollywood touch in order to appeal to the mainstream but this may not be a bad thing and luckily the director isnt too bad either.
Mark Whallberg is well cast in my opinion. He looks the part and isnt a half bad actor either (which is more important).
More importantly, will this revive the franchise? Max Payne 3?

Mark Wahlburg is lame. I hope they use the same style as Sin City. When I first saw the trailer for Sin City I thought it was Max Payne.

Hasn't there been talk and plans of a Max Payne movie since the first game came out?
Well, if they finally make it, it could possibly be decent enough. Both games are written like a movie already, and a little bit more translation plus the special effects would make it true to form.
They possibly chose the second game IMO for the semi valid romance between Max and... that one chick.

... Was Max Payne 2 a good game?...
I personally liked the story of the first one better, second one had more polished combat and level design but overall I found the game meh. It was way too short and had a story filled with clichés.
I would like to see the movie on the first one rather than the second.

MP2 was so so good. You owe it to yourself to play it if you enjoyed the first game.
It does seem completely illogical though. MP2's story pretty much relied on the player having played MP1. I'm curious how they think they can just jump right in.
