i read this article in the Hartford Courant about many devices you may buy to enhance your gamin experience and and wondered if getting this was just to much.
Philips amBX Computer Gaming Peripherals ($399, full kit at Amazon.com)
Philips showed off this new line of immersing gaming peripherals at the recent World Cyber Games championship event in Seattle. There are several components you can add to your PC that will help pull you into the game — or pull the game (or movie) out into the real world:
tStart with a pair of powerful Philips PC speakers and add an amBX subwoofer.
t Add high-intensity LED lights that sit atop your speakers and behind your monitor. With the ability to flash or sustain 16 million colors, they sync up to your game, creating the game's atmosphere on your desktop.
t Plug in a game-activated rumbling wrist pad.
t Last, but not least, you've gotta try the dual 5,000 RPM fans (shown below at either side of the $399 SGC5103BD system) that, according to Philips, can simulate "everything from a gentle breeze to an approaching helicopter." by Bill Hutchens

i am fine with some nice speakers or some lights to add to the experience but fans? come on. that seems a little much. i think there is a line and that they crossed it. it not even for a ps3 or 360 but for the pc. when i used to play pc games all i used were the speakers that came with it, the lights from the screen and the wind coming from the open window. also for 400 bucks, thats a lot for a few fans and flashing lights.
