View Full Version : Zelda
codinthepocket 03-05-2008, 03:03 PM This is what makes Nintendo as good as Microsoft and Sony. The Zelda series are the best games you can ever find. They are so, so good and they are just unrivaled. even the originals (apart from the atari one). OoT, MM and TP are the best games I have ever played.
strika234 03-05-2008, 03:06 PM indeed.
my only problem is that the storyline (like most nintendo games)
is completely the same with every single game.
still the games are awesome:)

For some reason, it took me FOREVER to figure out that first dungeon. I was a n00b back then...
SpudRock3t 03-06-2008, 09:39 PM I never understood the significance of WindWaker. It's off the wall and different, but I guess I should praise it's differentiation in the series for that. At least it was TRULY innovative.
Hollowcow 03-07-2008, 02:01 AM The Zelda series contain some of my most fond gaming memories. Defeating those bosses were epic for me when I was young.
Legend 69 03-07-2008, 08:08 AM Ocarina Of Time was brilliant, the best ever game imo.
RatTail 03-08-2008, 03:30 PM Ocarina Of Time was an amazing game. I used to try and beat it at least once a year (before I got a GameCube with Windwaker). I always dreaded going to the Water Temple, though. For some reason, it would take me like a week to beat that place. Fighting Dark Link was fun though.

not me,I have played most zelda games(but never cleared the first the second, link's awekenig and a link to the past, and never played hourglass never got my attention(please don't start saying go buy it because I won't)) ,so I'm really used to zelda games so I figure out the triks quickly.
pixelage 03-08-2008, 11:45 PM I'm replaying OoT right now, and the fact that it's still fun and interesting after 10 years amazes me. Not many games can do that, you know?
Although the Water Temple still isn't fun, no matter how many times I play it...

the same goes for the water temple on majora's mask

Yeah, that temple sucked. I don't remember which one was worse, though.
RatTail 03-10-2008, 04:22 PM I wasn't too thrilled about that one temple in Majora's mask where the whole layout of the temple would change. I had to use a guide to figure it out.
ShockwaveLover 03-10-2008, 11:43 PM Nothing against Zelda fans (each to their own I say) but what would get me interested in the franchise again is a different storyline.
strika234 03-12-2008, 09:05 AM ^agreed.
The Beezs 03-12-2008, 09:41 PM The entire Zelda series is just plain fun each time around. I managed to buy my third gamecube when they were offering the zelda collection, so anytime I want to play a good zelda title I just need to plug-in my GC. Good stuff good stuff.
Although my best memories come from Ocarina of Time, namely the music. Loved it, and still love it; my feet start tapping each time I play the bolero of fire or Saria's Song. There was just so much to do in that game, and it was the first zelda game that I managed to clock over 70 hours on it.
Finding all the skulltula, getting all the beans, high dives in the canyon, farming the skull kids for easy rupees, Keese hunting in lake hylia, and the sheer amount of tricks that let you do stuff you normally can't do. Best feeling was figuring out that you can whoop ganon's final form with Deku Nuts. Stocking up on Deku sticks was a great way to make link overpowered in the early stages of the game. Each stick had the same power as the Goron knife and made quick work of bosses early in the game.
Rolling before a jump gave you more distance, backflipping was an effective jump to reach higher areas and much more that I've forgotten.
I love that game, gonna bring it up to work with me next week.

No, that's a rare quality. Although, I admit to being in the minority on OoT. It didn't do much for me... by then, I expected so much more from a Zelda game. Wind Waker and Majora's Mask, OTOH, more than made up for it. :w00t:
Still haven't found a copy of Minish Cap for a decent price. Missed the boat on that one. It may end up being the first Zelda game I've ever bought used.
