I can't stop laughing at the contest part of the podcast... Doc's sarcasm combined with fergie ferg was just hilarious!

No i didn't listen to it, i just assumed that they talked about Turning Point Fall of Liberty.... :confused: I must of zoned out when they mentioned the date, my job does that kinda stuff to me.

WOW i read the review, and i was not surprised.

About 6 months ago when i was on gametrailers, and it happened here as well, all i could see was "omg this is amazing blah blah blah", and i thought, what the hell? did you all see the same trailers? the ones with the god-awful graphics and generic shooter elements? I think postal 2 has better graphics than this, and at least in postal 2, you can use a cat as a silencer. I have been saying before the demo, which just cemented my views, that this looked like a terrible game, and on one or two sites, i got flamed for saying that, so yeh, lol is what i have to say tbh! I do believe i played 2 minutes of the demo and shut off the console feeling like all my enthusiasm for gaming had been taken away.

Good podcast guys, would love a t-shirt, but i dont even have the money to pay for my rent atm, so i doubt i should be spending any money :P

Thanks, and I got my prize today. Unsurprisingly enough the gold edition has four discs in it for just a game and an expansion. I say unsurprising because of how limited DVDs are becoming at holding data for games. I am currently installing it, and it is taking longer than I expected, but I can't wait to try this baby out.

Wow, I thought AOE 3 was ok, but actually was much better than I expected. Thanks again SG!... I am probably going to play this game more than I play COD4 right now (Hey, I need a break from the FPS every once in a while).

Mindless fun vs complicated fun?

Both really... complicated part is setting up your village, getting treasures exploring the map etc.

Mindless part is when you stockpile all the soldiers you can so that you can battle, and the actuall mindless/hetic part is battleing.

If you are wanting this, they added a feature where there is a "Treaty" for such amount of time so if you wanted you could have a time of preparation, and then the battle begins... however it is a little strict if you ask me.

If you get this I must say DO THE TUTORIALS! They really make that much of a difference.

The game looks great and doesn't require a really good graphics card (I have Ati x1300 series card and am able to do 1280 x 720 @ 60hz (720p) and still max out everything except, AA or anti-aliasing).

One thing that made me say, wow, that is so cool. Is that when you battle the background music intensifies as does the battle, and when it gets closer towards the end it changes back to calm music.

So far I really haven't played a full game yet, but I still am enjoying it!...until I hit revolution and ****ed up my entire colony...thus warrenting a restart.

Finally got around to listening to the podcast, and reading through the comments so far, I can tell I'm in the minority when I say making us listen to a extended commercial for playswitch.com in the middle of the show was SUPER LAME. After two bouts of 'we'll talk about that later if there's time' during the show - you throw nearly three minutes at amping up a sponsor. Love the show, but I'm hoping this was a one time thing. I understand you gotta give them a shout out, but do like ours have done. Give your sponsor, whenever they're game related or not, their five or ten seconds of fame before the show officially starts, but that should be about it.

Otherwise for anyone who followed the whole Gamespot K&L fallout, it should be common knowledge that if a major gaming review site/mag doesn't have something nice to say about a game, the review is usually delayed until a few days after the title's street date. It could be financially motivated, but most times, just political. Hence Turning Point: Fall of Liberty.

They've made it very clear that they absolutely needed this sponsor. It pertains to gaming, and Doc has had a good experience using it, so why is that a bad thing? Should they be restricted to not talking about any given product, service, or game for more than 30 seconds to not favor one over the other?
