There's one thing that I've learned from this whole PS3 charade over the last year and that is to be extremely skeptical about anything PS3 related until it's delivered. Sony is famous for over-hyping and then under-delivering *cough*HeavenlySword/Lair*cough* so any hype that any of their videogames get is taken with a grain of salt in my book. Once it's released and proven to be a good game, then I get excited about it i.e. Ratchet & Clank.

Ummm... I don't either, but I also don't find them enticing as toilets either. I'm a firm believer in "If you're not interested, maybe you should go elsewhere instead of constantly ****ting on something other people are genuinely interested in".

Should I enter every 360 thread and point out in one way or another how unreliable and crappy my experiences have been with the platform? How cheesy my new replacement sounds when it's running? How horrible Xbox customer service is? No, I talk about there when and where it's appropriate.

I have no vested interest in converting anyone to be a PS3 owner, I post PS3 news and info because it's of interest to me... but I can also do that at my other stomping grounds (http://www.gamercastnetwork.com/forums)... where people largely post/read what they're interested in and keep the blatant trolling in check.

Someone else can do that here... I'll just post my articles for a while and see if the smell goes away.

Alright, I think you're taking my light-hearted jabs a little too seriously.

First off, I don't troll all of the sections. I am genuinely interested in PS3 news. I AM interested in Ratchet & Clank. I AM interested in Uncharted. I AM interested in Home. I AM buying a PS3 sometime after the holidays in January. I like reading your posts and articles on here because you know your sh** when it comes to the PS3 and you don't present it in a fanboyish way like 95% of the PS3 lovers who post on the internet. It's just that with the PS3 I've learned to be apprehensive because of all their over-hype under-deliver scenarios in their history.


Please don't take any of my PS3 bashing (which I don't recall doing in quite awhile) seriously. I think it's a cheap (in a good way) console that has amazing potential and will eventually end up taking the lead back from Xbox. It's just right now they have yet to really wow me with any of their games or features. R&C comes close. Any time that I enter a PS3 thread conversation it's because I have something valuable (imo) to say and I'm never purposely trying to bash the PS3...unless it deserves it.

It's all good. I mean the site's practically all 360 anyway. I've played this part before. If someone else wants to step in and post news, that'd be awesome. It's hard to start and maintain a decent online community based on a subject (that seems to be so volatile) as video gaming... I just don't have it in me to keep that part of it up.

And I thought it'd be cool to help out this area of the forum as well as I've done it for quite some time over at GCN but I just don't have it in me to wade through all the garbage involved because I'd constantly be running up against the profanity filters and eventually Doc because I'm sick of some of the crap that's involved... So I'm just going to stop. I'm not leaving, I'm just not going to try to make the PS3 forum happen when it's clearly used more by non-PS3 owning people repeating the same thing(s) over and over.

And honestly, the same thing's happening in the Wii area too. I've literally had users complain directly to me about the trolling and bashing over there. The only area that doesn't seem to be overrun by this crap is the 360 area.

So I'll just stick to ranting and making up fake news...

First and foremost, this isn't a "Rothbart's mad or pissed" thing... this is a "Rothbart's tired" thing. Feel free to look for PS3 news and post it yourself... there are a few people here that would genuinely be interested in reading some stuff from time to time.

I've always been careful to not commit to more than I can handle (to my level of performance). I never committed to trying to keep the PS3 forum alive or productive. It'd be nice if someone did though.

I keep up on PS3 because when I get one I want to know what's good software wise and which version is worth my money.

Sorry things aren't going well for the PS3 and I sincerely hope the rampant stupidity that has gripped Sony eventually goes away but for now I'll continue to hope that the PS3 turns around and becomes the great console we all know it can be.

See, im surprised people are not getting more and more excited over the PS3. Having seen a demo of Play TV and its PSP extension, not to mention the varied games (MGS to Final Fantasy to Drake's Fortune) I am rapidly considering becoming an owner. Gran Turismo TV is another cool feature.

Granted, Play TV is a European thing but seeing as we dont get Video Marketplace I guess thinks balance out.

Oh and what was a "blank" thread has suddenly become a thread of debate :P

In other Ps3 news, Amazon have already sold out of 40Gb PS3's by Preorder on Amazon.com. This will be an interesting holiday season indeed.

I read a lot of PS3 news because I own one. I want to know more about games for it because of the drought that is coming to a quick end. R&C is GREAT! and this holiday is going to be hard to afford all this games coming. Keep the PS3 news coming!!

Hey I like Sony. I grew up playing my PS and PS2. Its just nothing they have put out has made me want to go run to the stores and buy it yet. :( I am not here to bash cause I havent touched it except for what I have played on the demos. Its all right but they need that hook if they want to compete is all I am saying. Shoot I didnt even want to buy a 360 cause I was a Nintendo fanboy sinse birth but everyone changes their mind once they find that one game that gets them going. You know as well as anyone else here the day that uber game comes out exclusively for the PS3 everyone is going to jump on that band wagon and be all like "PS3 FTW!!!111" Its just the way the world is. :cool: Who knows you might convince me to go out and buy one.

Diablo1026, you're missing the point. I'm not complaining that you (or anyone else) feels that way. I complaining about hearing about it from people otherwise uninterested or uninvested in the platform in virtually every discussion related to the PS3 at one point or another.

Take every 360-related post on this entire forum. Now imagine going in and saying "The 360's reliability is crap, they break all the time" which is an arguably true statement... but does it really need to be said that many times in that many places? No, it gets old. If I'm discussing Level 19 of Portal with others, I don't need to hear about your RRoD experience, just like I don't need to hear about Sony's blunders when discussing every PS3-related thread.

If someone else wants to initiate posting PS3-related news here, I'll certainly discuss it with them, but for the most part, all I seem to be doing is feeding the trolls (http://bugtraq.ru/library/underground/.keep/trolls.feed.jpg).

Its a sad thing to see Rothbart but I get where you are coming from. It is pathetic how some people act when it comes to the console "war". I find your PS3 posts interesting. Even though I am a 360 owner and unlikely to spring for a second console (more from the fact my fiance would murder me than for not wanting it).

I think that some people need to get it into their thick skulls that just because they don't own something doesn't automatically make it bad.

I enjoy reading your posts Rothbart. I like to be up to date with my knowledge on all the consoles so I know my facts and you are a trusted source. I dont usually post on the threads either, since some people have labeled me a fanboy and might take my comment in a fanboyish way so I dont break out an argument. I just hope you reconsider.
