T3mpus Fugit 10-28-2008, 03:03 PM Oh God, a BRITISH podcast?! Could I be part of this phenomena?!?!?
Fearless987 10-28-2008, 03:07 PM Great podcast guys:thumbsup:!
zinc136 10-28-2008, 03:22 PM It was good except maybe the next topic thing that was a lil annoying. Also You've been beat to the british sceen by the Casual Core's very own PureDarkness.
regua 10-28-2008, 03:36 PM The amount of crumpets is satisfactory, but the podcast definitely had not enough tea. You might want to work on that.
codinthepocket 10-28-2008, 04:10 PM The amount of crumpets is satisfactory, but the podcast definitely had not enough tea. You might want to work on that.
We'll work on that. Balaamsafe and I will be stocked up on teabags for our next show.
I have to make a formal statement however on behalf of both of us, apologising for a few issues that arose with the show.
Firstly, the popping sound at the beginning was my loud mouse clicking, which wasn't necessary, and I was doing it without realising it.
Secondly, the show may sound a bit disjointed, but that is because the show was originally 45 minutes long, and a lot of editing had to be done. I'd like to thank Balaamsafe and Dave enormously for editing the podcast, removing a lot of my uncontrolled ranting and raving about LBP, and some stuff that wasn't necessary.
Thirdly, as you may have noticed, there wasn't any mention of the show's name, or it being British. This is because the show was originally going to be called the TAG show (Talking About Gaming), but it turned out that a website already had this name, and was affiliated with GCN. The show's name was changed after recording, and if you listen carefully at the end, there is distinctive cutting, where the original show's name was cut out.
Finally, my counterpart and I would like to apologise to the community, for not having enough tea and crumpets during recording. We can assure you that we will be wearing tweed jackets and holding pipes (unlit, because neither of us smoke) and we will be sipping tea and nibbling on crumpets and Worcester Sauce crisps, while having a copy of The Sun and The Independent open in front of us, to make sure that our podcast is as British as possible. I will also have my Border Collie next to me, and I will be herding my sheep also, and I will be playing an episode of Mock the Week in the background, but muted, to avoid interference.
Thank you for taking the time to read our statement, and for any show suggestions and improvements on how to make our show better, and more British, please feel free to email both myself and Balaamsafe at:
codinthepocket@googlemail.com
balaamsafe@googlemail.com
Once again, thank you.
Now, a small word from one of our representatives, Mayor Boris Johnson:

PS - I must state we that no muffins, crumpets, or tea cosies have been harmed in the making of any BrutalGamer podcast... those are just vicious rumours :)
balaamsafe 10-28-2008, 06:37 PM I was actualy drinking tea throughout the recording and editing of the show. And it's not that tea-bag rubbish either, it's proper tea, from tea leaves in a pot. Anywho, the "next topic" won't be in the next show, it was only in it because i had to majorly edit the show down because we got a little too exited over little big planet.
Next time, we will cover: Farcry2, R2 beta, englishness, COD:WAW and much much more.
Oh and thanks for the feedback, shoutouts will be comming your way.
AlmightyEmperor 10-28-2008, 06:39 PM Just listened,
Great show but you might have some competition from the other EU show!

Huh? You're telling the community before me about what we're discussing?
And I'll have to talk about the COD:WAW beta, because you will not give in and buy a 360...
You can handle the R2 beta though.
Can we also talk about Crackdown?
EDIT: I think I was too excited about LBP. There was actually about 10-15 minutes of audio of me talking about how good LBP was. Looks like my opinion has changed now though.
Listen to the next show to find out why...

ALL you play is crackdown dude!
balaamsafe 10-28-2008, 07:03 PM ALL you play is crackdown dude!
he likes to jump
codinthepocket 10-28-2008, 07:21 PM ALL you play is crackdown dude!
I love the game. I said to Fearless987, I'm very game specific.
If I love a game, I won't play anything else.
My acheivements are something to base that on. Crackdown - 980, Bourne Conspiracy - 1000, Oblivion - 1000, Splinter Cell Double Agent - 600 (All of the single player), Prey - 685 (Pretty much all of the single player), PGR4 - 875, Timeshift - 520 (All of the single player), Stranglehold - 470 (Mass majority of the single player).
Most of those acheivements came naturally as well, that's what's weird.
Crackdown is something that I have been playing non-stop for a week. If you are on my 360 friends list, you'll have noticed that. If you are on my PS3 friends list, you'll have noticed my complete PS3 absence.
It's a fantastic game for me. I really, really love this game. I'm like Lono with Too Human.
he likes to jump
I do, but I've now maxed out all of my stats on Crackdown, so I love to drive, shoot, explode and fight as well. I recently killed 5 people with a bell from a belltower. I've got 20-30 kills from killing people with a giant metal globe. I've even got a kill from smacking someone with a lamppost. I've killed by jumping, by spinning my vehicle into someone, by throwing grenades at over 200 feet in the air. It's brilliant.
But yes, I do love my jumping. It's really fun!
I'm not gonna say anymore on Crackdown now, for the time being, to save you people from any more ranting. I'll be saving it for my review and the next podcast.

Halo(b4 update) 920
Too Human (730) i'm not don with this baby!
Lono_Lives 10-29-2008, 03:53 PM My only recommendation is to stay away from the Podcast cliche "So, what are you playing right now." Stay away!!!
Frawlz 10-29-2008, 04:29 PM You don't ever have to tell Lono what he is playing... He will post a story about it on the site.

Yeah, and I would think he would know what he was playing, and that I wouldn't have to tell him what he was playing :D.

MightyMutt 10-30-2008, 10:17 AM Good work guys! Nice to see you representing good ol'Blighty.
I really enjoyed your LBP discussion, I actually got better info from that than I've heard on any other podcast - well done.
Try to keep it brief on Crackdown, I too think it was a great game - but it was more than a year ago and might not be that interesting to your audience. Not saying don't talk about it, but don't talk about it too much.

:lol::grin::lol::grin::lol::grin::lol:
You also need to throw in a few more Tally Ho's, Chocks Away, Spiffing What's and Toodle-Pips

Yeah its jsut not complete without a few "HI-HO SILVER, AWAYY"
PirateFlame 10-30-2008, 04:33 PM I'm glad to see fellow gamers from the UK and I enjoyed the podcast...
I know that it wasn't originally going to be a "Britcast" and that this is the first ever episode so things can only get better. That being said, you have a great opportunity because although a lot of gaming is the same as the US, there is still news that applies only to the UK. It wouldn't limit your audience too much because it's only something you have to touch on but it's something that as a UKer I'd really enjoy and would also set you aside from the crowd.
I'm only being critical because I DID enjoy the podcast and would love to see it become even better. Why not employ a third person to your podcast? I'm sure there would be someone from the UK willing to hop on. I only say that because there is usually more conflict and range of opinion with three people (but four just becomes too confusing).
Well, I'm gonna shut up before I just sound like a bastard who likes to criticise (Although that does sum me up well). Keep at it, I'll be tuning in for the next one.
PureDarkness 10-31-2008, 12:43 PM Speaking from a londoners perspective, can i say that 80% of the comments in this thread have been quite stereotypically racist...
good podcast guys

yeh are racist!
choco 10-31-2008, 04:57 PM haha going against the grain I really didn't like it, I though everything was random and you might want to work on mic placement it just didn't sound right. -Simon Cowell (haha)

You're very welcome to criticise. Any criticism will be taken on board.
It sounds random and choppy because the original podcast was 45 minutes long, and a lot was edited out. Plus, we kept interrupting each other. Eagerness got the better of us...
@ MightyMutt
We will make sure that we get the doses of Tally-ho's in there (ho's pun not intended).
It's going to improve as we go along.
But thanks a lot for the fantastic feedback. There will be shoutouts, and I will stop talking about Crackdown...
It's NBA 2K6 now...
We'll have some interesting things on the show, including an idea from my head...
Involving a competition...
More to follow, once I've actually told my co-host about it...
8bitBass 11-02-2008, 09:15 PM nice job guys, I liked the robot voice announcing the subject change...kind of a Britcast original.
AlmightyEmperor 11-02-2008, 09:26 PM nice job guys, I liked the robot voice announcing the subject change...kind of a Britcast original.
I think i missed that.
